This might be one of the best pieces of golf equipment that I have ever used.

If you wear contact lenses you should really look into trying a set of Nike Maxsight Contact Lenses....these are specifically tinted for various sports....they have contacts for high speed sports such as baseball, for dark sports such as mountain biking in the woods and they have a golf specific lens. Made for Nike by Bausch & Lomb. You should be able to get a trial pair for little or nothing....should last a summer if you just wear them for golf.

Wore mine today for the first time....removed all the glare, sharpened up the contrast and made following the ball a lot easier. I'm not comfortable wearing sunglasses so these were a major upgrade to basic contacts.

One word of warning, they are a funky, really funky colour....they made my entire iris appear black....great for Halloween. :D

Can you get these even if you don't wear contacts or glasses? I have pterygium and I heard these might be an alternative to sunglasses. Where can you get them?

Not sure but I would expect you could....but if you haven't wore contacts before there is that issue....getting used to them can be tough for some. Effectively they are sunglasses with a specific golf tint.

Where can you get them?

I ordered mine thru Sears Optical. On the attached link there is a link to retailers.

Only thing with pterygiums and sunprotection is that you want to have the entire eyeball covered with a UV filter. Sunglasses do that nicely. But with contacts, there is still some parts of the eye that will not be covered by the contacts. Other thing is that the physical movement of the contact itself on top of the pterygium may cause it to become more irritated and cause further growth.
