I'm purchasing a new driver (Callaway FT-5) and I'm not sure what flex of shaft I should get (regular or stiff)?? I'm not really sure what my swing speed is but I hit my 7 iron on average around 160 and hit I hit my driver around 240-260. My bad shots are usualy weak slices to the right. Just holding most drivers I tend to like the feel of something that is less whippy.
Any comments??

The only suggestion is to get your swing analyzed and then get fitted properly.

I suggest go get a fitting done by a custom club builder or at the place of purchase to see which flex would suit you swing better.

Hit the range, take your glove off and slip it under your left arm pit. Keep the glove in there throughout the swing, esp from impact to finish and say goodbye to the slice and hello to more distance.

I'm going to try that tonight.

Or say hello to a smelly glove if you are sweating a lot
As for the driver shaft flex, hit balls with different shafts to see which one suits you best. Outdoors preferably. Or get on a laucnh monitor, best thing is do both, outdoors.

I don't understand how this would work? Wouldn't keeping that arm totally tucked into your chest reduce your extension? It would help you come from the inside, but I don't see why it would give you more distance - if anything, at first I would think it would reduce distance. Please correct me if I'm wrong though

I would think anything that promotes a straight drive increases distance. This past weekend on a round all drives but one slightly faded or sliced. Those drives were about 195 to 210 drivers. I had one that I hit perfectly straight. The drive was 245 yards.
