actually, this year wasnt the innaugural ryder cup...there was an EAST vs WEST ryder cup last year pitting the GTA vs TGN members west of the GTA.

Therefore this would make this the 2nd ryder cup

congrats to the ottawa guys

It was a great weekend and a fantastic event run by Geoff and Dixon. There were some great battles won and lost. I had more fun at this then I have had any one day event. Cheers to all the players on both teams. Now we start building for 2008

It was awesome and this kinda event really brought out the game out of everyone. The first day was pretty close and a lot of split matches. I felt this brought out the best game i could play to win.

I can't wait for next year and hopefully i improve my game to lay a beating to OTG.

Congrats to OTG,

Congrats and Well Done to the guys from Ottawa.

Props to all players from both sides of the fence, some great matches out there and today was an even more difficult test as we had to come from behind.

Your final talley is incorrect though, we'd like to go down with some pride, TGN lost by 1 point today, not 3.5. :D

Can't wait until next year guys.....great friendships were formed and I'll be looking forward to playing some golf with the boys from OGF this summer. :)

The ottawa guys definately had game. Leftygolfer and I swept our side today for I believe our only sweep. Lefty hit a couple of par threes to within a few feet and I par'd them to death. The most boring golf I've ever played and damn it was a blast.

Had an absolute blast. Couldn't have played with a greater bunch of guys. We had a great grouping, very even, with many birdies. Some of the OG boys put on quite a show, but we fought our arses off. Very evenly matched teams made for some awesome matches. Congrats OGN, WE'll see you next year.

Congratulations to the OTG team. They were the better team this year and we look forward to challenging again for the 2008 event.

I'd like to thank my team for giving everything they had on the course. The OTG guys all played at lower HDCP's and it was great to see all our players rise to the occasion and match them shot for shot. The matches were all close and could have easily gone in our favour.

I'd like to thank Gerry for the hats. It was a great touch and much appreciated. Thank you to Geoff who really did most of the work to make this event run so well. Thank you to my playing partner (jason) who let me experience what's it's like to hit into the green after a 300 yard drive. Thank you to the team for the great Stanley Thompson book. thank you for the great laughs on the course and especially Saturday evening just chilling (Albert, Scott and especially Sentilar). I have memories that will last me a lifetime.

Thank You for organizing Dixon!

Brad and I rose to the occasion, Brad had the rally cap on 15 and boy playing against a 5 handicap and 9 HC was tough! I fired a 40 on the back 9 today with 2 double's to half that match. Brad was solid on the Par 3's and the 16th hole all weekend.

Thanks Partner!

I too would like to chime in and add my thanks to all of my teammates for one of the best golfing weekends I've ever had. I was honoured to have been a part of such a great team. Although I had met a few of you guys prior to this weekend, I was happy to meet everyone else and put faces and personalities to everyone's screen names. I am happy to say that I came back tonight having made 17 new friends and I would be glad to golf with any one of you anytime - I'll even join you at Bond Head Charles! ;)

Just to add to my partner's compliment's, I have to say that if it wasn't for Charles, we wouldn't have swept our 2 1/2 points today. I was just glad to contribute what I did.

To the Ottawa team, it was a pleasure to meet all of you that I did and we'll be the ones holding the cup in the picture next year!

I would also like to add my thanks to Dixon and Geoff for all of their hard work. I know how much work goes into organizing something of this nature. You both did a fantastic job!

couldn't of put it better myself. Two stand up guys who can sure as hell play their ball well. Everytime i thought we had a leg up on a hell, there was Albert or Gerry knocking a wedge in there tight. A few made/missed putts had gone the other way, it could have easily been the opposite result!

I want to thank everyone involved this past weekend, as well as make a special note about Trillium Woods - a terrific course for this event. The staff was absolutely great and the bugs were even more accomadating :(

Geoff and Dixon, you guys did a great job organizing this - congrats on a very successful event. To motivate 36 people to get together 3+ hours away from some of their homes (one guy came 8hrs for Ottawa ) is a huge accomplishment!

Here are a couple pics:

Dixon, you did a great job with your team and you should be proud of them. I know I am of my guys. By all accounts everyone there was nothing but gentlemanly play and good sportsmanship all around.

It was a pleasure to finally meet you guys. And for all of those I didn't get to meet personally I wish I could've. You were a great bunch of guys, and I'd be honoured to play a round of golf with any of you anytime.

Thanks again for a great weekend guys. Here's looking forward to next time. :D

2 people told me 1 point, I never had the chance to see that fancy scoreboard. :D Anyway I slice it, all of your OGF guys played some excellent golf this weekend and are surely deserved of the trophy.

I'd like to take this chance, now that I've had some sleep, to thank both Dixon and Geoff for taking all the time out of their busy schedules and personal lives, to organize this great event which brought together 18 guys who share a passion for competition in the greatest sport in the world, IMHO. We played some great golf, battle hard and in the end, made some good friendships that I'm certain will carry over to future events and weekend gatherings.

That's ok though, we'll be ready to do battle againt next year. :)

And I almost forget, a big thanks to Mule for being our man in the know in Belleville. His help in organizing the tee times and being in contact with the course was invaluable to have and a huge weight of mine and Dixon's shoulders. He suffers from sleep apnea.....needs the machine to be able to get a decent nights sleep.

Although I never thought of the whole bong thing...it does have a container for water. Next trip with him is going to be even funnier, when I turn that thing into a bong and we watch him weeble and wobble all over the damn place. :D
