Purchased some new shoes a week or so ago, and am finding that a pressure hotspot is developing on the bottom of my left foot.

I know some retailers have a 90-day comfort guarantee, but does Golftown have the same? I'm not looking for a refund, just a different shoe.

Myself, I've never heard of a retailer gauranteeing shoes that have been worn. I would think that if there is a 90 day comfort gaurantee that it would have to come from the manufacturer. Once the shoes have been worn thats pretty much it as far as reselling them.

Why don't you just call GT and ask?

It's not GT that offers the comfort guarantee, it's the manufacturer.

If you have owned them for over 30 days, they will only provide you with an in-store credit, so long as you have the receipt. Seeing as you've owned them for only a week or so, bring them in and tell them they are hurting your feet. A good GM or AM of that store will take them back from you, get an RMA from Footjoy and then give you full credit for the value of the shoes to buy something different.

Here's to hoping that the person you get, thinks with their head.....because this is exactly how I used to take care of my customers at GT.

Maybe this is the same reason why you don't work there anymore? ;) :p

Thanks Scott.

These are higher end Callaway shoes (XTT Precision), and given Callaway's exceptional customer service i'm sure there will be something in place. I am going to give them one more round to break in, and will then speak with GT if they are still bothersome. I bought them from the department head who seems like a good guy, so I am not anticipating any issues. :)

Scott gave you excellent advice. The sooner you return them , the better it will be for all parties.

Definitely... I don't want to be returning run down haggard old shoes. It's just that I only have one round on them. Should I forgo the second round and just return them right away?

Kind of off-topic, but when shoe shopping at the Golftown in Mississauga I opened up a box of shoes to find that someone came in, put one the shoes and left their old ones in the box.

Golf town is pretty good with their exchange policy with shoes. I bought a pair of those Adidas Tour 360's or whatever they're called, wore them for two rounds and exchanged them for Footjoy's. The Adidas' had some new insole that is suposed to keep your feet from sliding around in the shoes, but the problem was that they keep your socks from sliding around, so your feet slide around in your socks (no, the shoes were not too big). A side effect of this design feature was that the bottoms of my feet got a little shredded. I explained my problem with this feature to the manager at the golf town in Mississauga, and she checked what Adidas' comfort guarantee was (ended up being 30 days). I was told that I could exchange them for another pair of shoes of equal or greater value (i pay the difference), so long as the exchange was made that evening (not sure why golf town often wants you to make alternate choices on the spot, but fair enough - the shoes had been worn outdoors). Got the Footjoy's and haven't looked back. Overall, I was very pleased with how this situation was dealt with.

Well, I took them back and the department head was more than accomodating. I tried on what seemed like every shoe in the store and ended up with some SUPER comfy Ecco Flexors. I just played nine holes with them and no problems whatsoever.

:D to Golftown!
