Commonly written on this forum is that not all shaft manufacturers shafts are the same. One manufacture's stiff is another's regular.
I am familiar with the Fujikura's REAX stiff shaft found in Taylormade drivers. Is the Aldila VS Proto stiff shaft stiffer or less stiff than the REAX shaft?
Thanks

From what I've heard, the 60 S model plays softer than stated. Most players jump to the 70 S version and seem to be happy. Not much in the way of detail, but its a starting point. Hope it helps a little.

In my experience, the VS Proto does flex out softer.
You could try a 70-S which is almost 10 grams heavier and does lower the torque value as suggested by Big Johnny69, but I would suggest trying a 60-X-Flex as well as the 70-S if you have the opportunity.

Comparing the 2 shafts is difficult, but the Reax will play softer than the VS Proto. They have the same characteristics with regard to weight and kick point, but the VS proto has much lower torque.
It really all depends on what you are looking to accomplish with regards to ball flight by making the change.
