I was wondering if anybody has used FS tech support in the past. Do any of you have comments both positive and negative on FS tech support? I've been reading different feedbacks about them on the net and majority of them are negative.

I currently have a laptop that's reaching the 2yr plato. I initially bought a 3yr warranty for it, so if I mess with the insides my warranty is void. All I really want to do is clean and lube the heat sinc, and upgrade my ram. A normal comp tech would take a few hrs. I'm guestimating that FS will take 6-8 weeks.

BTW, this is my first post in about a year, w00t! I've been out of the golf thing, travelling the world. But now I'm back for good and ready for 2007.

well if they are working at FS then they should have at least an A+ certification. taking apart your laptop isn't too big of a job, there should be instructions somewhere on the net either from the manufacturer or on the net somewhere else. I know with my inspiron i can go to the dell site and pull up the instructions on how to take it completely apart. I've only managed about 60% apart so far :)

I personally would not take anything to Future Shop for servicing as I have found that place and its staff to be completely sales-focused and 100% useless with any and all things related to customer service. Just my opinion.

This may be a dumb question, but do you guys have London Drugs in Ontario? If so, their computer and camera departments are outstanding for service and support. I'd definitely take it there.
