Does anyone know how world ranking points work in this case - obviously having #2 in the tournament raises the points potential and with him out, does that change things, or is it set based on who starts, not who completes the first two rounds?

May not matter much here anyway as there are a lot of high ranked players. Big time event with a lot of excitement - nice to have the Live@ coverage. Also nice to see O'Hair playing well - even better that I have him on my fantasy team this week (and I didn't pick Phil).

I'm pulling for Sean O'Hair . . . I'm really hoping he wins as soon as possible after TPC; he really showed that he had guts going for that 17th pin, and was really great in all of his interviews after.

On a serious note....I want to see Ernie and Thai-girl go head to head on Sunday....

Ernie had said that his goal is to be #1, so now is the time to put the money where the mouth is (or was it 'put the mouth on whom the money is with'? or perhaps the proof is in the pudding? Wait, I think it is 'buy the pudding, put it in your mouth, to prove you have money'; This must be it  )

Anyhow, if the Els/Woods showdown does not materialize, having Weir winning it and making the P-Cup roster is not too bad either.

Hope Haney didn't "Tonya Harding" Butch. :D

No worries.....Gulbis will come to the rescue of Butch...

Mickelson pulled out, and now Masters champion Zach Johnson also pulled out because of strep throat after making a triple bogeys?

If I am Nicklaus, these people will not get invited again next year.

If I am Nicklaus, these people will not get invited again next year.Good idea ... because Jack might play next year. He's said that he'd like to play the Memorial one more time, and that he'd like to take a shot at Sam Snead's record for the oldest player to make a cut at a PGA event. Next year would do it. He increases his chances of making the cut if he declines to invite the better players.

Pure genius. Thanks for the suggestion -- I'll pass it on to Jack.

Golden Bear, glad to hear from you again...;)

With top players faking injuries and pulling out, the field might get depleted to the point that Wie will get invited :D . Plus he can invite chronic WDs like Daly and Couples, not to mention Duval.

With this plan, Jack can beat up some second tier PGA pros to make the cut
