I was wondering what the biggest difference between CC's on Drivers. Does having a 460cc make a bigger difference that a 425cc or smaller?

Also it may give the designer a greater opportunity to reposition weight within the head with the larger size. This may allow them to further manipulate the launch angles, based on a given loft.

hmmm when i first began playing ( only 15 months ago) i found the 460cc drivers a bit big & ungainly to use and preferred to use a 420 ( plenty big enough)
i also found that the 460's ( or the 1's i tried ) made it harder to move the ball both ways in the air and i could only hit them straight ( unless i miss-hit them ).
460cc is the biggest legal size you can use in tournaments/comps.........but you can use smaller if you like!
my own opinion is that smaller can sometimes be better.it really depends how they suit your eye and swing!
my srixon driver is also a 420cc club ( although its not the make or driver i started with ) because i find that 420cc is plenty big enough for me to have a generous amount of forgiveness but still the flexibility to shape my shots with a little draw or fade.
i am sure alot of people can hit their 460cc's that way but i couldnt!
go to your local golf store / club fitter and hit a few different shapes and sizes and see what suits you best.if a driver doesnt suit your eye you wont hit it very well.
if you hit a 400cc driver out the sweetspot it will go just as far as a 460cc driver out the sweetspot!
the bigger drivers are to help your bad shots go straighter and further.but that could mean further into the trees
but they dont make your good shots any better!!

The biggest improvment was when we went from 2000gm to 4000gm with mishits, with most of the 400cc to 460 cc drivers have about 3500gm cm2MOI to 4000 gm cm2 and perform very well, ( 470cc is limit ) the latest big drivers show improvement in mishits but don't come close to the improvement we have seen in drivers when they went from 260 up to 425cc, some diminishing returns for the average golfer, III bet in time we will see a return to 400cc drivers and traditional shapes, there is not much room for improvement in performance in drivers so pushing the envelope in MOI seems to be a good way to impress us week end golfers. we will all buy something if the marketing people does their job right. For the moment square drivers and big drivers seem to be the cool way to go, I went to a 460 for some mishits not for distance, I was hitting my 360 RBT from KZG just as far but wanted a little more forgiveness. These guys on tour have every benifit at there disposal and a mishit could be the differance of fairway or rough, I;m like everyone else, I like the late'st and greastest just like everyone else!!.
