Anyone heard of him?

I see he's playing quite well on the Champions Tour this year.:)

I Googled his name & saw he had a good-run back in the late 70's, but I guess Moe Norman, George Knudson & Al Balding held the spotlight for Canadian golfers back then!?

Yeah, I hear he was one of Canada's premiere players from the Woodstock? area. Not sure but he's held some course records and is regarded as a good teaching pro from what I've heard.

I'll ask around and find out.

Rod was born and raised in Nia. Falls. I played with his Dad a couple of times back in the mid 1970's. Rod went on to win two Can. Amateur titles and was IMMENSELY long.

A guy from St. Catharines named Bud Clayton had a clubmaking service called IGS and made all of Rod's (and mine) persimmon drivers. Equal to Toney Penna, they were the best made back then and could be customized with three diffferent block styles, O, H, and S. Each would be hand shaped to your eye's preferrence.

Those were the days. :D
