She is apparently quite smart, and certainly comes from an athletically strong gene pool.

And she has clearly proven herself already in the big events.

nah, just never really liked her look. She reminds me of the brods i saw in Cali who just looked like they had been in the sun about an extra 5hrs/day too much, and did not take care of their skin at all. There are some attractive girls on the tour, i just don't think Gulbis is one of them.
