I am trying to persuade my friends to start golfing haha, they told me that they were willing to go after exams. That's why im looking for easy beginner courses in the mississauga area, we are all high school students. Thanks!

Take a group lesson (s). Then hit the course after. You/they will be thankful.

some good courses for beginners are Centennial Park http://www.tee-off.ca/courses/on041.htm and Derrydalehttp://www.derrydalegolf.com/

They are not long or intimidating and very close. Great for beginners. Good Luck!

Hi, I'm from out of town but will be staying in Mississauga in the near future. Any course suggestions for an intermediate player? I want to play a couple times so I'm lookuing for something at a reasonable price.

Thanks.

braeben, lakeview.

If you don't hit it straight, stay away from Braeben. Deerfield on the QEW.

There is a par 3 course somewhere on the west side of Brampton. I heard it was a great course for beginners

course looks really nice.....good choice as many of the pins are straight...however the back 9 is loooooooooong it seems....bunch of 300 yarders!

btw...any dress code in effect for this course?

Braeben has a fantastic Academy 9 hole course. Good price and well kept. Perfect to infect your friends with the golf bug.

hey thanks,

Because i'm staying right near Hurontario and the 401, I decided on Braeben and Lakeview, they are both within 10 minutes of my hotel. Braeben looks great!

There are actually 2 courses in Brampton. Peel Village and Parkshore I think.

Braeben, Lakeview or Streetsville Glen will do just fine.

When you go to braeben... be prepared for a windy round... they have 1 really nice par 3... elevation drop over water....

BraeBen was built on an old landfill and may not smell to pleasent. Played it last year in September and it was great. Fun track with great views of the city. Went out again in October and where the new 16 and 18 are (used to be 10 and 12 i think) smelt just awful.
I liked it alot but probably will not go back because of that.

You're right...My sister played the course on Sunday and said that there was a very bad smell for about 2-3 hours. The course she said was in a good shape though.

I realize this is an old thread, but given that this is my first summer playing golf, and I live in Mississauga, I might be able to add a few nine hole courses to the ones mentioned above...

Economy as well as a low challenge level were my group's main criteria this year...

All of the courses below are under $25 for peak rates (e.g. weekends)

1. Grand Highland (Barondale near Highway 10) is a great short game course and is a good course if you have young kids that are getting into the sport.

2. White Oaks at 9th line & Dundas has a couple of challenging holes for a beginner although the overall condition of the course is not great

3. Executive Fairways at Highway 25 just South of Derry in Milton is the cheapest of the lot - very low challenge level and fairly flat terrain, but a good way to exercise a few different clubs in the bag

4. Derrydale (while the most scenic and one of the more challenging) would likely intimidate a beginner due to the wave through requirements

My favorite driving range is Jacob's Creek - Burnamthorpe just West of 9th line. $10 for a 105 ball bucket, reasonable yardage markings, and metal stands separating players.

Hope this helps (someone) :-)
