:) I just have a question for those technological superior than myself. I am going to Korea in the summer and i feel its time to get a cellphone. I am pretty sure i can get some really nice phones for good prices in korea. Only problem is... Could i get them to work here? If so, how. Thank you guys for the help.

Hey justinn. Just make sure you pick up an unlocked GSM phone and get survice back here with Rogers or Fido and you'll be fine. I personally would make sure it's a quad band GSM phone or you may run into less than ideal reception circumstances depending on where you live/hang out.

Best of luck.

Hi, check www.gsmarena.com they have all the new phones around the world. And as what was said, ensure that it is an unlocked gsm phone and you will be set.

I'm not sure how much luck you will have finding a phone that will work in Canada while you're in Korea. Korea uses their own CDMA network, so any phones that are sold there for local use will not work here in Canada.

Like everyone else said, make sure any phone you buy is an unlocked quadband GSM phone (triband will also work, but your reception might be more limited in Canada).

And don't expect phones to be cheap. They will be awesome, but you will definitely have to pay for their awesome-ness. In fact, because you're not signing up for a contract with a local carrier, you can expect the coolest phones to cost anywhere from a few hundred to over a thousand dollars.
