Just came back from Golf Town in Woodbridge. A buddy was looking for a belly putter as he has a sore back and prefers that style. They have at least 1000 putters out on the floor and I found 2 right handed half belly putters I guess. I asked a salesman where they kept them and he said they didn't have any as there was no demand for them. I looked him in the face and said, "Did I not just ask you about them" Jeeez wtf kind of an answer was that, how about arranging to get one in for the guy. Nope no effort was wasted on us. Going to try Targetlines and see if there is a "Demand" up there.

SMARTEN UP GT!!!!

FWIW, I've never been treated anything but well at GT. Some staff may be less knowledgeable than others, but never unhelpful. I'd go somewhere else if I thought I'd do better.

You may be leaving out parts of the story, and I wasn't there to see the body language and so on, but I don't see the problem with what he said. After he says "there's no demand," you jump on him with the sarcasm? Is that really how it went?

Of course I wouldn't be rude and say that to him, I was thinking it. Now if he were indeed a decent sales person maybe he could have asked if we were interested in looking at another location or having another location send one to that location. As far as GT goes (Woodbridge store anyhow) I usually can walk around for quite some time without ever being asked if I need help, and thats when the store is not busy. There's something strange with all the woodbridge big box stores staff that I have noticed over the years from Home Depot to GT or even the local Sam's club. I don't think they get it ... No offence bud, but if you are that unhappy and it seems like you have formed a fairly unfavourable opinion about them, why do you continue to go in? Maybe go into another store and see if they can wow you?

Unfortunatley these big box stores pay very little $$ so you are not going to get the level of service that one may expect. Do not get me wrong there are hundreds of associates that try to "wow" the customer but this breed is becoming more extinct by the day. Our market economy wants to pay bottom dollar for their products yet the retailers stock holders want shareholder value, so what is not made in the topline is cost cut in the bottom line. Remember when Depot first came out there were more associates than customers... these days you could lap the store six times before you find someone just to find out that it is not there department. I do not blame the staff (well there are some with 0 work ethic) but they are doing more and more work with very little increase in pay.. Sometimes the Depot's pay raise is like 15 to 25 cents/ hour... not much

If you pay Minimum wage labour.. you get minimum effort labour.

BTW The Kitchener GT has been very good to me, Their club dept. Mngr. has pulled product in from other stores.. special ordered hard to find equipment and even has given me discounts on top of all this I would say some pretty good service!!! I am sure if you ask them to bring in a long/belly putter they will try to track one down!!
