I know this was mentioned briefly in the LPGA championship thread lost amongst the wie talk...and..this kind of achievement deserves its own thread anyways.
She qualified for the LPGA TOUR AND WORLD GOLF HALLS OF FAME by completing the first round of the LPGA Championship!
She'll be inducted on Nov 12.
The LPGA Tour halls of fame is one of the hardest sports hall of fame to get into..with only 22 achieved it before her..
First Korean to be inducted..and the single-handedly introduced competitive golf to korean females!
CONGRATS ON THE BRILLIANT CAREER!! Probably one of the only friendly rivals with Annika that I don't have some kind of beef with....but with that said...go annika this week!

CUTE TOO ;) I have close up experience to prove that one!
She has done well in her career. She had a spell where she bascially quit golf. A lot of that was caused by being burnt out, being away from home. Now she is refreshed and back playing well again. I have always loved watching her golf from the moment she came to USA to play on the LPGA.

I agree, but it seems weird to me that someone not quite 30 years old is a Hall of Famer. She's younger than Tiger and her best golfing years could still be ahead of her. I always thought that being inducted into the Hall of Fame should come at the end of a great career...

Shore was an illuminating presence for women's golf. Since 1972, her eponymous tournament has been one of the LPGA's most visible. Shore's name helped insure network television coverage back when it was a precious commodity, which in turn helped her tournament set the curve for purse increases. Shore had such a lasting effect on the LPGA Tour that in 1994 she was posthumously made the only honorary member of its prestigious Hall of Fame. "This is not an honor given, it's an honor earned," then LPGA Commissioner Charles Mechem said.
Shore brought to the women's tour a star quality that was sorely missing. She invited many of the players to appear on her television variety show, and even hooked some up with commercial endorsements. "The tour was still Podunk when we went to Palm Springs, and suddenly we were celebrities," said Jane Blalock, the champion of the inaugural Dinah Shore. "It changed the perception of women's golf." So, too, did the champion's dive into the lake on Mission Hills' 18th, a frolicking tradition Shore and Amy Alcott started.

 um, 'sponsor's invitation/exemption' ... sounds like she belongs is a "Builders" category for the Hall of Fame separate from the "Players".
