Is this a joke?

Toronto is in Canada, not U.S.A...

Why does an employer care about your height and weight?

You need to put your age and date of birth?

Your average marks through first year B.A is 60%...

If a job posting comes up quoting "English skills not required" you'll be set.

I suspect this is actually someone wasting our time now - we've had a spur of 'jokers' as of late.

In some countries it is very common to include personal information such as the above on a resume. In fact, some require a picture!

I'm not doubting that. It's the rest of the ad that I view as being insincere. Especially noting the response.

doesn't look like a joke. Since i am originally from chandigarh, India, his address info is correct for that city. You'll have to excuse his ignorance as he seems to be young and not the wiser of how to go about seeking work in foreign countries (he doesn't grasp the political, economical, or sociological ramifications for foreigners).

I certainly don't mean to insult anyone. He just seems as if he's trolling to get a reaction. At any rate, I'll let it be.

No need to apologize. You are correct about that. By the way, did that other guy with the posted resume ever get in touch with you??

Nope. I'm guessing his job hunt has moved elsewhere.

Nope. I'm guessing his job hunt has moved elsewhere.

He probably realized a B.A. through Correspondence coupled with a loose grasp of Engligh and an interest in golf would land him a career in the sporting seciton at Walmart.

We were actually referring to another individual whom I had offered a job to.

I know the employment law here prohibiting the employer from asking personal information not related to the job posted.

But given that this person is a foreign national, maybe we can ask for more personal information, perhaps picture? ;)

If he has no SIN card, he won't be able to get a job.

At this point in the year it will difficult to get a golf job, as most positions are already filled. However he may be able to get something in September when the students go back to school, assuming he is able to get a SIN card.

Dude (or Mate), you might want to email the PGA Tour www.pgatour.com (http://www.pgatour.com) to get in touch with Arjun Atwal. He is your fellow country man and might be looking for a caddie or know someone who is looking to sponsor a foreign national to work on a golf course in the US.

You do realize that Canada is a seperate country to the USA? A working VISA from the States does not allow you to work in Canada.

WOW, not a very respectful and helpful bunch you have run into. I hope all the best for you, and hope that the previous posters have not discouraged you from possibly moving to Canada and specifically the Toronto area for golf-related reasons.

I APOLOGIZE for wasting everyone's time behind this foolish post. I dint mean it really. Just thought if anyone knew any job related to Golf. And by the way i am not of that much level that i would go for caddie job. i mean in Golf club attendent job or sometime related to that. And my geography is good enough i know Canada is different country. I just completely forget everytime that i am in Torronto FORM not in Usa. I just searched for GOLF JOB in Google and i landed in this forum and i dint see the name Toronto golf nuts clearly. Thats the mistake i did. and i dont think that is the issue here. SOrry everyone for wasting your time. I just need job for 1 year only. Thank you for your hard and soft comment. THey both help me. I posted here because i am a golfer myself. And i thought you golfers would understand my problem. What i feel is that we golfers are different. sorry again from my heart

I don't think any of us were being disrespectful. I think we were just trying to help. Hopefully it was taken that way, at least as it pertains to my posts. I think trying to inform someone who is thousands of miles away that a US VISA won't allow him to work in Canada is information he should have. Or maybe he could just buy the plane ticket and find out when he got here.

the_har, for just one second...consider that this guy could actually be looking for a job. You have no real proof otherwise and yet you are here harassing him and telling people that he's a scammer. BTW, I take offense to your comment about certain races not using certain terms...that is bordering on rascist. Last I heard, the english language was free for all to use. There isn't any rule limiting the use of certain phrases to one country, etc.

What has this guy done to you to deserve this?

If someone is going to offer this guy a job, it's going to be pretty easy to see if this is genuine or not.

It's hard enough to find a job, no one needs a stranger on the internet making things tougher.

Is "indian" really a race? Funny, I thought it was a nationality.

At any rate, the other dude was wrong, considering that India was overtaken by the English and a phenomenal amount of indian people live in England I think that an indian using the word "Mate" is pretty common.

As for the OP, I think he is just wayy too naive. We are not all rich over here, getting a job on a golf course most likely won't even pay the bills and I don't even wanna imagine the fun you're gonna have in your first cold winter..!

!

Whats the difference? I think you could safely assume that indian is a race. If you discriminate against them you are racist.
