Again the question is why all the negativityabout Kaneff?
Played a tournament today and it went smoothly. Teed off maybe 15 minutes late but we played in 5:15, which is damn fast for a scramble.
Course is very tough if playing own ball and could easily lose balls in the rough, though it did not look that thick. Green receptive and rolled true and fast. Some very tough holes, with very few easy ones. Keep it in the fairway and all should be okay. A killer risk/reward par 5 16 to an island green is the signature hole.
We started on 18, none of us hitting the practise range and butchered it with our only bogey. Anyone know retrogression? We were in a three way tie for first (prizes for the top 2) and finished third though we bogeyed the 18th.
I just googled retrogression and by the dfeinition below, we should have won. Anyone know the rules? The MC said they based the tiebreaker starting on the 18th.
"A method of tie-breaking when two finishers complete their rounds with the same score. Used primarily in Canada.

Retrogression can be applied to gross or net scores.

Example: If Sam and Robert are tied for third place after 18 holes, retrogression examines their scores after 17 holes to see if either player had a lead with respect to the other. If Robert had the lead over Sam after 17 holes, he wins third place outright and Sam is awarded fourth place. If both players were tied after 17 holes, then regression looks at their scores after 16 holes, etc."
I guess they mustn't have used retrogression.:(
Anyways, complain about the price if you want, but the course, the conditions, the amenities and add to that a perfect day, with partners who carried me and it was a great day out.
