I did once and only once. I had a really bad week and went to play golf on the weekend. My mind wasn't on the golf game at all and was playing terrible. Took my 3 wood to the golf bag and didn't realize at the time that I hit the bag so hard I broke my driver. At the next tee I pulled out my driver and realized what I had done. It was a stupid thing to do and I never did it again.

a long time ago I bought a putter with a wooden shaft, great fun to miss a putt and snap the shaft in front of your buddies only to have a replacement in your bag lol, and I have never broken or thrown a club in anger.lots of cursing though:hush:

Does hitting a golf ball so hard because your angry and caving the face count as breaking a club out of anger?
If not then I've never broken a club out of anger but i've probably destroyed a couple tee boxes :( but i've seen swanker bend his SW around his neck. Word of advice if he ever is angry (which is rare) don't get in his way.

have broken many clubs in my young golfing career. I was a nutcase when i was between 13 and 16 and have broken more than i would like to admit to. However i don't remember the last one that i have broken, my temper has subsided a lot and doesn't really get the best of me anymore!

I broke a club trying to do the Tiger Woods bouncing the ball on my 9I then hitting out of the air.. only to snap the shaft right at the hosel and watch my club head fly into sixteen mile creek !!
Once my friend got so pissed off with himself that he snapped his 8I on his bag ... but he was using my spare set:mad: !! Unfortunatley for him he hit the bag right where his cell phone and sunglasses were... I did not feel so bad about my 8I:rofl:

Not out of anger but broke 2 drivers on the same hole, different days, at the same course. Hornby #10. Both were my dads drivers too.

I would never do such a thing. I love my clubs way too much to do that.
My buddy had a bad temper a few years ago (he's gotten alot better). One time he 3 putted and took his Scotty Cameron and tomahawked it towards the cart and it bounced several times on the cart path.

I played with this guy in Seattle once, he starting throwing his club into the hazard everytime he made a bad swing or wrapped them around trees....He ended up having only 5 clubs left in the bag at the end....off the course, he is an even keel, laid back kind of guy....
I found out after that his bag is made up of clubs from the used bins at golf stores because he has to replace his missing/broken clubs after every round or so....

I leg of a stand bag once back in '97.
I gently tossed a wedge towards the bag after a bag shot and clipped the leg in half.
That was a brand new Sun Mountain bag back then.
Lesson learned.

A fellow golfer 3 weeks ago was so aggravated after leaving a green he whacked his bag with his putter. 2 holes later when he took out his brand new Teitlist driver....one practice swing and "clink" the shaft snapped right in the middle. I myself have never broke a club in anger although I beat up my three wheeler last year at Ballantrae and broke the wheel off. I now have a metal Bag Boy 3 wheeler....takes the punishment much better

Whacked a ball out of the air with a putter when I was a teenager and the head came off and flew across the road. Like most here, I learned my lesson.

A couple of years ago I had Cleveland CG10's and thought they were a little on the light side. So I finally had enough of them and ordered new shafts for them and with a little encouragement from my buddy Ken I snapped them both over my knee. I haven't done it since but it felt good at the time. Had to make friends with my PW.

As a junior golfer I got upset and whatnot and cursed and tossed clubs (never far or anything...but ya know...pseudo aggresive tosses). Now I don't get out enough to spend 1 second of my time on the course angry. I have fun no matter how i'm playing and I refuse to let myself do otherwise. I find it's helped my game a tremendous amount to just be happy to be on the course regardless of how I'm playing. If I keep that attitude I generally score well and am comfronted with no trying times requiring me maintaining composure :p.

A buddy of mine who was having an absolutely terrible golf day a little while back chucked his 3I into the water hazard after having hit 3 balls straight in to the drink. He's calmed down consiberably since.

Years ago I bought a new putter in the club house of a local cow pasture. By the time I got to the 6 hole I had accumulated a large number of putts. After walking off the 6 gree.n I buried the putter head into a tree. Rumour has it that it's still there.

Which do you prefer?
In my hands?
Over my knee?
Into my golf bag?
Into a tree?
Into the ground?
Done them all.
And they were all more than 30 years ago.

I snapped the legs off my bag a few years back.
So you are probably thinking that I am some sort of lunatic throwing clubs and breaking my bag but the bag deserved it, really.
My round was not going well that day… I remember slicing my tee shot well off to the right. There was a steep hill I had to climb to get to the tee block from 3 holes back… this is where my ball came to rest.
Half way up this hike the straps on my bag broke and my bag/clubs went rolling down the hill. So I gather my clubs and head for the top once again. I am now holding my bag by the grab handle only five holes into the round.
As the holes pass by my hands and arms are getting tired of carrying this bag of stupid club (the clubs are stupid because I could not hit them on this day). A few more holes go by and the spring that returns the legs to the bag falls off and I cant find it. Now I am holing this bag by the grab handle and the legs are dragging on the ground and hitting my feet.
If this is not bad enough one of the legs finds a way to jam down my shoe and starts to work my ankle. Well it is not long before the leg gets a good jab and cuts my ankle… well that was it… I slammed my bag on the ground and snapped the legs off, then I picked them up and put them in my bag as if nothing happened.
I still hear about this from those who were there.
P.S. Anyone want a good used carry bag, no strap or legs but the pockets are still there.

I snapped a wedge over my pull cart last year.
It felt good at the time but When I looked up at my playing partners I felt so embarrassed. I apologized for my actions and vowed never to do it again and I haven't.
I came really close at Mystic last week though.:hush:
I figure I'm not good enough to act like that on the course so why bother.
I still do the occasional hard swing through the air after a duff.....errr mishit.:$
