Hey all. I've narrowed my search down to 2 sets of irons. I'd prefer heads only as I have to get new +1/2" shafts put in.

If anyone has a set of either of the 2 mentioned they'd like to sell, please drop me a line.

Each TM RAC Forged TP iron head had a long hosel but the bottom of each head was filled with a blue plastic slug which I suspect made each head real light. I'd go the Mizuno route.

Wow. I wonder if TaylorMade would even reply to a email if you sent it to them asking about the light heads? You would expect the top line offerings from Taylormade would be more consistent. Got to Blue Print the clubs!

Forged heads are always less consistent than cast heads. 250+ year old technology :)

Owen, did you weight the heads, check the swt's and the lengths?

Well I traded them a few months ago, and the guy who got them, PMed me saying he checked ALL the specs, and all the specs were bang on, he was suprised they were so good from being off the rack! Maybe that could have been a 1 time thing being perfect, but I have nothing bad to say about either club! (TP's or 60's)

Ok. I think I've settled on the MP60's now and will likely try and do 67's for the 9 & PW.

If no one has any MP60's around, can you suggest a better place than GT to buy these retail from where I might save a buck or two and deal with some nice people?

How much difference has it made to peoples games making sure the weights were bang on? I figure unless you are a ball striking 4 handi or less it doesn't mean much but I have no idea. I am a solid strikig 4 but just use standard off the rack 20 year old mizunos.

When I was looking, the guys in the Markham golf dome said they could help me if I wanted MP 60's, they have a connection in the states at a pro shop at a golf course they can order from that would save a person some good $$$. Forget the name of the shop at Markham dome, I think there has been a # of posts by golfers that didn't like them but the few dealings I had with them I found them VERY helpful and POLITE. Tom.

You can also try the Mizuno forged just before their 'cut muscle' offering.

You share a common myth with the vast majority of golfers. Every variable in golf adds % Error or Dispersion to EVERY SINGLE Shot. Some variables are more important or critical than others. Do you think a tour player swinging his driver 120 mph needs TM TP heads that produce a ladies swingweight?

It is great you are a '4' as the majority of golfers would only dream of having such a game. Maybe with more consistent and properly fitted sticks you could of got to '2' or scratch ...

Thanks for the info. My clubhead speed with a driver is about 112 to 115 or so. The ladies club weight brings to mind the ladies 3 wood Fred Couples used for years. It was his favourite club.

I will have them properly fitted etc... I will let you know if my handicap comes down but pretty sure right now the reason I am a four handicap is that I don't play enough and lose focus on atleast 10 shots a round or so. Maybe I will be a scratch or better if I improve on those things, get a lesson and fit my clubs as I have never had a lesson.

Just to note, having clubs fitted properly helps better players more from what you had wrote? My post had said unless you are consistently striking the ball well with 90MPH and up, fitting is not worth it? Not sure what you meant.

Thanks for the reply.

MP-60 = AMAZING

Just picked up a set, used it 2 rounds and they are simply the best mizunos i have ever hit.. anyone who knows me knows im a mizuno Ho.. i've played them all, and the MP 60 is the most forgiving club out there that lets me work the ball. It has the characteristics of a players club with the forgiveness of an MX-25. Looks great too!!

Mp-60 all da way!

Hi, I have some connections for a set of MP60's. How much are you looking to save of the retail of $1099 plus taxes so around $1250.

Should be able to get them for $1000 all in but will be shafted.

Let me know here if interested and then we can go from there. This looks in line with your prices for your golf balls you are selling and the discount provided.

Thanks

The MP60 is probably the most attractive offering from Mizuno.

White belt and new irons...Hmmmm...are you trying to impersonate Luke Donald? :)

Looking for Polo shirt as well?
