Hey All...I have a 'Boys' weekend upcoming in the next few days and 8 of us are playing the Lakeside course at Deerhurst. Anyone played in this year? Anything that I should know about?

yeah, cancel ur tee times and book into Highlands or the O'Meara course across the street.:thumbs_up
if ur gonna drive that far and have eight busy peeps set aside a decent chunk of time to 'get away' ur gonna want to get onto a more than decent track .... and Lakeside (Par-64, 'executive course') is not it.
caveat: if you are all new to the game of golf this might be an ideal course.

from their website:
Looking for a quick round or a chance to get comfortable with your game before you hit the big links? The par 64 Deerhurst Lakeside beckons ...

either way, enjoy your Muskoka weekend!

You guys are correct...I played the Highlands last year and it was a great experience. However, as you guessed above, I've got a few rookies with me and also have some that would rather drink than play so I figure why waste their money and mine playing Highlands when the Lakeside will do...

Nothing's worse than watching your buddy hitting his sixth shot from the rough on a Par 5 and he 's STILL 150 yds away from the green. Hey, I appreciate the fact that they want to come out and play so the least I can do is give them an easier course to get around..know what I mean?

Anywyas, thanks for the tips guys...

sorry. I misread your original post, i thought you had a 'golf weekend' planned but it's actually a 'boyz weekend'.
Lakeside would do you just fine and as its a very 'forgiving' course, and more importantly it is just a 3wood away from Huntsville for post-round refreshments.:) . Enjoy!

Exactly...had this been a 'golf' weekend the company and courses we'd be playing would be much different.

I recommend you drive into Huntsville and play Huntsville Downs. For about 50$ you can play a not too long course that has an Ok front nine and a great back nine.A decent B course that won't ding your wallet.
