I can't help but wonder why the PGA and USGA are still using the Stimp Meter. I'm sure most of you have seen the demonstration Dave Pelz put on showing how much better the Pelz meter is that Eddie Pelz invented. Based on the explanation Dave explained on air, the Pelz meter is far superior.
On that same note, Dave Pelz tested all the greens at Oakmont and they were found to have a 4 foot deviation in speed. Now with that information why did the USGA not use the Pelz meter to make all the greens the same speed?
