For those that haven't played King's Forest, it's a great track.
I'm looking forward to playing it.....maybe Gerry and I will have to put up a challenge to Swain and Wayland so we can finally take the belt back from them. 3rd times a charm baby.....

Given the amount of strokes we have to give you and Swain this Saturday, I'd be surprised if Gerry and I won. Saturday was close, but your HDCP's kicked in......that and my 2 triples didn't help our team. 39 on the front with 2 of the shortest par putts I've ever missed playing and then I blew up on those 2 damn par 5's.

My attitudes are changing. Yesterday at Glen Abbey on the 11th hole I got a sudden bout of cramps and almost crapped my self. If it wasn't for a cart girl that happenned to come by and whisked me off quickly to the 14th where there was facilities I think I'd have been deep in the woods with my pants around my ankles.

I've printed out the Kings Forest tips from the following thread: http://www.torontogolfnuts.com/showthread.php?t=17370
I plan to take these tips to the range tonight and visualize each hole as I try to make each recommended shot. I don't know if this is going to help me Saturday but it can't hurt.

It's all good Guitarman....I'll try to answer all your questions, and give course advise if you would like. Just keep it reasonably in the fairway and you'll be ok. As long as you don't get caught up in the mentality of trying to hit the approach shot of your life you will be ok. I'ts fine to chip onto the green with your 3rd shot for the par 4's. I am acutally swallowing a lot of pride and chipping on with my 4th & 5th shots lately...lol. Course is dry (ball is going far) due to dryness but greens are receptive.
Let me know ASAP as I will cancel tee times by Thursday if no interest.
Owen get your boys together and get on down to Hamilton.
A knowledgeable suggestion for everyone. DO NOT play the Black Tees  at 7,100 yards. The Blue tees at 6,800 is all the golf course we need.

Thanks.

A big thanks to the 27 others that joined me today at King's Forest for a nice day of golf. The weather was pretty much perfect.
Thanks to gnarlyrabbit who braved coming out as the only women golfer today, especially when she knew nobody.
Anytime anybody wants to play the course again let me know and Titleist75 and I would be happy to host.

Thanks for the invite, Gerry.
The course is very solid and plays quite tough when you havent seen it before or if you hit it sideways all day like I did.
I'd like to host an event at Paris Grand in about a month so I hope all of you can / will attend. I've got some work to do on the dates but I'll get it going soon.
It was a pleasure to meet more TGNers. Hopefully more will come out next time.

Thanks to my playing partners, Heits, Lloyd and gnarlyrabbit for putting up with my inconsistant play! :D

Thanks to Gerry for most of the organizing, to Grass Roots Tour for poring over the hard-to-read scorecards, and to everybody just for showing up.
As if the intangible rewards were not enough, Mr. Tour handed me a fistful of dollars for getting a birdie on a hole that nobody else did. For a guy who shot 99 (93 with ESC) and threatened nobody but a few neighbourhood children and dogs all day, that came as a pleasant surprise.
I have to tell ya, King's Forest has whupped my a$$ every time.

"braved" is right :$ ... interesting that you recognize that that was a little nerve racking for me - I was definitely going outside of my comfort zone. But everyone I met was nice and I had a fun round with my foursome. I played pretty well too :) Nice course too with all the trees and water even if it was a little brown.

Yeah, yesterday felt more like a quick meet/greet kinda day....very strange. I think it was more due to us having been in the car for almost an hour and a half driving up, most of it being stuck in traffic which was frustrating.
As for playing a round with me, you are always welcome to join me in a game Terry. In fact, next time we tee it up at a TGN event, you and I will play the round together and we can choot da chit. :D
A little brown? My feet are killing me.
It was tough on a lot of us out there bro, feel your pain! :( I was punished more times than I'd like to remember for hitting too much club on some holes that left me running out of fairway and almost always stuck behind a tree in the rough. I've played King's Forest many times and I've got to say that that is the driest I've ever seen it.
My biggest complaint about yesterday was the bunkers and how inconsistent they were....understood one's idea is to try and avoid them, but they should be at least filled with sand that doesn't penalize you by not being able to at least get out. That was some of the heaviest sand I've played in.....a lot worse than Ballantrae Golf Club and as much as I like playing their, think the sand is 2nd worst to any course.

And a big thank you to you as well GnarlyRabbit, for braving it yesterday and stepping out of your comfort zone and into something that most female golfers out their today just wouldn't do especially on their own! :). Everyone I've come to meet on TGN has been the nicest of people and in fact, some of become some of my best friends. We will have plenty more outings like this and as Terry said above, next time we will try and make it on a day where we can all sit down for a bit before the round to talk for a bit and then hopefully afterwards all sit down and grab a bite to eat and talk about our rounds after.
I'd like to host an event at Paris Grand in about a month so I hope all of you can / will attend. I've got some work to do on the dates but I'll get it going soon.
I'd be up for that Will, but could I suggest trying to make this one an early morning round, seeing as it's a good trek for some of us coming from out East? That way, we could all relax after the round and maybe grab some lunch.....I'm on vacation as of the 5th if July until the 16th, but won't be available from the 5th until at least the 9th as I'm moving into my new house on the 7th.
It was great playing with you yesterday Will....we both did not play to our usual games but the company was great and you and I shared some good laughs yesterday. I walked away hearing one of the funniest things I've heard in a while and of course, it HAD to come out of Swain's mouth: Hungry Bum

My playing partners for the day was great company and I have no problem playing with anyone of them again.
By the way who was the ***@@@& who tied me on the second hole and deprived me of a skin?
