I dont know about you guys but I think Woodington's old 18 is one of the most overrated courses in the GTA. That opening hole is WAY too difficlut and sets the wrong tone for the round. The rest of the course is average at best and 18 is again too difficult and not well designed.

I agree with you for the most part, and certainly about #1.
The rest of the course is alright, the only difference of opinion I have, is that I LOVE #18!

They hope to have the front nine open June 29th and then shortly after the back nine, was asking pro shop the other day.

Has anybody played the new 18 at Woodington Lakes yet? We'll be going there in September and are wondering which 18 to play. We only got in 9 holes last year on the old 18 before we were rained out.

Couldn't agree more. Have played it 4 times and just can't get into it. Hopefully they're new 18 is more impressive. But, at a buck-twenty five, they won't be seeing me for a while....;)

I do agree that #1 is a poor starting hole, but I love #18. Tough approach with no room for error. But the rest of the course is just so so....Couldn't agree more. 18 is really the only good hole on the course. Guess they were saving the best for last.....

Played here on Sunday morning. NOt bad, overall. The grounds were very dry, we actually started calling the "ruff" the "rock".

They had an August special $75 cart incl. For that price I would play there again.

We asked about the new 18, the marshall advise that there has been set backs.....

The signature 18th is still stunning, ther only hole that has really seen any maintanence.

Worth a round, if you've never played the course before, but not worth the regular $$$$

They have an August special going on, but one round, get second for half price. Any time, any day!
I think someone there is panicking as quite obviously they cannot get people out to the original 18. How are they going get enough people to also fill another 18?

i played there sunday and i was talking to the starter and he said they are waiting for some rain to soften it up...i think every course is waiting for that!!!

Playing the new 18 this Saturday. Has anyone played there recently that can comment on the conditioning of the course?

Also would like to know if this is a walkable 18. (ie/ not too much up and down terrain and/or 1km hikes between tees)

Thanks!

course is not bad for being new. some holes require one to play it more than once to see the target line(s). other than that, its not bad at all. greens are a little slower but run true. one of the course marshalls told me that management was suppose to plant 2000+ trees either later this year or early next. I would play it again just to get a better feel for it but I still prefer the old 18.

Anyone know if the Falls rate kick in yet?

A friend called last weekend trying to get a 3 some...Was told the green fee was still $99.

Decided against playing it...

Update: they also mentioned that it is closed for the season...
