Anyone hear about the new quarter coming out on Oct 21st to commemerate Rememberance Day? Its got a red poppy in the middle, making it the only multi-colour coin by any country. Funny thing is, you can only get this coin at Tim Horton's or the Royal Canadian Legion. So go buy your coffee to get one! I think I'll use this quarter as my new ball marker!!! haha...

That's kinda cool... if it doesn't rub off and cost us more to make it resulting in higher taxes and lower disposable income

Just got a few from Tim Horton's and they look pretty neat. I heard on the radio that the red ink from the engraved poppy in the middle is already coming off. Otherwise, looks good. My new ball marker will give me more luck!! Birdie binge!!! *chirp chirp*

got a couple of these yesterday at Timmys...wasn't very impressed...the poppy in the middle looks like someone coloured it with a marker, and every coin is not the same, the alignment of the poppy with the coin is not always at the same spot.

They also easily faded when I rubbed on the imprint of the poppy!

I like the new Quarters! Hurray for Canada to instill some national pride for Remembrance Day. Even though the red rubs off easily I think they would look great in a coin collection. :)

Sounds like it's meant to fade. They just had the red initially to generate some excitement I guess.

Really? I thought they were suppose to be commemorative? I don't think they were suppose to fade as quickly as they were as soon as I had one in my hand......

it's funny a lot of people never heard about the coins until the day of release....

I must agree. The fact that the red fades so easily is disappointing. I thought it was pretty neat to have a multi colour coin. Nice thought but they should have thought of a better way to keep the colours from fading.
