Any guaranteed ways to get a long ball out in the Fairway.... consistently??
It's frustrating off the tee if your constatnly in the woods... I find I pull the Ball far too manytimes now. And when I try compensating... Yeeee Haaaa, here's the ugliest slice you have ever seen.
Perhaps, I'm in need of a swing doctor soon...:D

Two things cause the ball to slice. The swing path AND the face angle at impact.
The pull and slice are the same swing.
In the case of the pull you manage to square the clubface and in the case of the slice the face is open.
Your problem lies in the swing path. Your swing path is from outside to in or over the top (same thing).
There are many things that could cause this move and it would be wise to seek professional help if your serious about fixing it.

Professional help is good advice. Do it, Mikemakeitso. I'd love to see you consistently hitting fairways. You'll kick some more *s.

How are your irons? I can carry a 3-iron 205yds dead straight. I prefer being short and in the fairway than my playing partners who go long and wild. Also, i've found that i can out distance almost 60 % of the golfers out there (the hackers on the course) with my irons. FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!!!!!!

Mikemakeitso, come on, take a lesson. I've seen your swing, and you are so close. Just do it.

Sometimes all it takes is some time at the range working on your mechanics to change the plane of your swing.
For instance, I had developed a really bad case of inside outs where I was leaving myself open and not finishing my swing. Hence, everything was being pushed and short. Driving was even worse, pushed or sliced really bad.
So I went to the range determined to change my swing so that it accomplished 2 things.
One, get rid of the inside outs and two, make it a habit to completely finish my swing.
To do this, I started working all of my irons and with more of a baseball type swing until I found the right plane where I could hit the ball with a slight draw on it.
Then I moved onto my driver.
With it, I still couldn't find the precise swing consistently but what I did discover was that when I went with (the only way I could describe it is a 'Happy Gilmour' type swing) a swing where I'd tee the ball up, not bother getting firmly set, but just taking the club back and swinging away, the ball went long, straight as an arrow with just a perfect draw to it.
Not just once, but 33 times in a row.
I know.. it makes absolutely no sense and goes against every principle of golf that I know.. but after 3 times at the range now... it's still working and straight. So why fight it...
Bottom line is, picture in your mind what it is that you're doing wrong and what you can vision as being a perfect swing. Then go to the range and work on making it happen and doing it until it becomes habitual.
If that fails, then get a pro to go over it with you.
Just remember, not all pros advice will work for you, each one of them teaches differently.
