Hey All,
As I'm always wanting to get peoples review as well as give them, I'm going to give my input on Bushwood Golf Club.
I use to play there when I first started golfing, it was a great course when you're young and a beginner. Haven't been there in a while until during the past long weekend. I heard from my brothers friend that they made some dramatic changes to the course. Took a look @ their website and they had a special during the long weekend which included $42.50 for Golf,Cart, and Taxes ANYTIME during the day. I couldn't believe the price and said I had to go check it out.
Called to book my reservation and the guys working the front desk were very polite, same courteous service the day I checked in. Went to the range, before my 7am tee off and was surprised that their grass was full, green and well maintained. Most golf ranges I go to don't know how to maintain their grass tees. But Bushwood was pretty nice.
Played the course and I was completely surprised. They really had a course makeover. Not a makeover like different holes, but maintenance wise I was pretty impressed. The fairways were nice, greens were great and the best part (although nobody wants to admit it's a good thing) was that they had nice "rough"! The grass was green pretty much everywhere, now obviously there were some irregularities here and there, but it was so small that you wouldn't notice anything wrong with the course. The course isn't hard, pretty straight, but I was just really impressed overall with their wonderful "rejuvi" of the course. Not only that, but the prices are very decent.
I've always mentioned that customer service is the most important, especially golfing, the first impression/experience when I booked my tee time over the phone was great, and the experience when I arrived at my tee time was exactly the same. This is how it should be done, that that is how they do it @ Bushwood.
Now again, not everyone may have the same experience, but when I was standing there waiting for my brother to pay for me :D!!! I would listen to all the other people checking in and they all had the same customer service experience with the polite welcome and wonderful service.
I would recommend Bushwood if you haven't been out there for a while, I thought that they did a great job this year, and I plan on going back, hopefully this Sunday morning if they have an open spot!
Again, not everyone has the same experience because nothing is perfect, but feel free to let me know how you fair the course!
Cheers!

I fully agree with you...they treat you well and the course is in pretty good shape.
Great course to take beginners or high handicappers...played the long weekend with my wife and some friends and it was quite enjoyable.
Hole #7 is in my opinion the most challenging...plays 410 yards from the back tees...need to be straight and long for any chance of hitting the green in two.

Hey MannyR,
Is Hole #7 the one where the "Gold" tees are way in the back inside the forest with trees on the left and right and you have to hit it over the little "stream" onto the green? The hole just before the little 180 yard par 3?
And seriously, how can you beat $42.50 on a long weekend... ANYTIME.. that includes golf/cart/taxes?
lol.. especially with how they made some vast improvements. Spoke to the head and he said that the reason why it was so cheap was that they needed to get people back to see how well they maintained the course this year.

Good to hear. I personally have had horrible experiences there, between lack of customer service to having 6+ hr rounds. If there have changed some of their policies, might be worth a look...

Yes...that is the one...when I played it on Sunday was hitting into the wind from the back tees...hit it perfectly solid with a slight draw then still had 160 into the green...PAR'd it.

FF,
When was the last time you played it? b/c I wasn't too fond of it back in the day, nothing special. But when I went back last weekend it was a totally different course.

i went there too, and i still do'nt like how they do'nt honor me for the junior rate on weekends even though it says after 2 pm in spring, so i went and they gave me the twlight instead, and they wouldn't check the website, enve thoguht IT SAYS SO ON THE WEBSITE. Yah i'm done, anyways i went again this year, haven't played there in a while, thoguht i was goign to have a aweful time cause i shot a 50 on front and then managed to shoot a 38 on the back. And i also figured out my new ball of coice in the Nike Ignite. yeah i'm done. Bit of a good bad story.

Probably been a year or two since I last played there. And I vowed never to go back... But hey, if they were willing to change, I'm willing to give it another go...

Would like to sneak on as a single to play a 3hr round next week. Is this place busy on weekdays?

I've played there 3 times this season, all on weekdays. My longest round was 3.5 hours, only because I got stopped at the turn by a little lightning. Mid-morning is the best time (after 10). It's pretty busy first thing in the morning and after about 2pm. Last time I played, I didn't run into anyone until the 14th, and they waved me through.

I played here in May, when they still had the cheap rates going.
I always get my round done in 4 hours here. Weekends: 7:30AM teeoffs.
When were those 'exceptional conditions' done on the course?

Always wondered---did they name this course before or after Caddy Shack was released?

Play @ Bushwood today.
Nice lay out of course with appropriate hazards. Keeps it challenging and you'll have to know your distance. Luckly we had a regular joining us in the
group and basically guided us through. He knew the distances to the water.:D
Rate on wkn is actually $55 including tax.
Course condition is pretty good. Would play it again when i get a chance.
