Hi All,

Just wanted an opinion on these three courses. I will be coming back from a cottage and want to play one of these three on the way home. Please rank in order of preference of play. Feel free to add comments.

Thanks

1. Oakridge (not long but challenging)
2. Lakeridge
3. Kedron (cheapest of your 3 choices but not the best condition wise of the 3)

I've played all 3 of those courses and I prefer Lakeridge. It's a good course with quick greens. Oakridge is also a good course with quick greens.

Kedron is a challenge but not up to the level of the other two

Kedron's course conditioning is not as good as the 2 other choices, which is to bad because IMO it is the best layout of the 3. I'd play Kedron over the other 2, but Lakeridge is a close 2nd.

I am with Hoganuts...Kedron has the best lay out.

Followed by Oakridge and then Lakeridge.

Haven't played KD in a long while (distance),but I do agree that it is the better track of the 3 stated. My scratch golfer buddies at first weren't enamoured with the conditions, but in the end they really liked the course.

Kedron may have a nice layout (I live within 20 mins of all three), but most people from this area would not put Kedron in the same league as lakeridge or oakridge.

Oakridge and Lakeridge are in the lower end of the upper crust of durham courses. Whereas Kedron is at the top of the B level courses.

Depending on what time of day you are playing, you could probably play Royal Ashburn or Watson's Glen for around the same price.

I haven't played Kedron, but from my experience at Oakridge and Lakeridge, I'd play Lakeridge. Oakridge is a very nice course, but the greens and tees have been pretty hit and miss for about 3 or 4 years now. I've never had a issue with the greens at Lakeridge, even in years past where every other course in the area has had trouble.

I wouldn't neglect Watson's Glen either, as it's matured very nicely. Royal Ashburn is also in fine form this year.

I prefer Oakridge...what a great tough little course ( slopes at 140 and only 6200 yards)

I think that it superior to the other 2 although in fairness it has been 10 years or so since I played Kedron or Lakeridge.

last September we played Oakridge and the condtion was excellent

Oakridge is the best of the 3 but, be careful there have been bad reports about conditioning there this year
I play Lakeridge every week. Very good track with fast greens
On going work on bunkering is a drawback.

if your willing to play lakeridge...watson's glen in a far nicer course and is just down the road

I personally like Lakeridge the best of the 3. Greens are always quick aqnd roll true. Has some very nice holes 4 / 7 / 10 / 11 / 14 / 15 / 17. Have played there since it opened and always get a few rounds in every year.

Thanks for all your input.

One of my buddies really wants to play Lakeridge and since I never have played there, it will be the course we play.
