my wife and I played Muskoka Bay yesterday....

wow what a fantastic course, beautiful layout, great scenery, wildlife abound, extremely well maintained, wonderfull service.

If you have not, you need to play this one !!

only two very small negatives were:

very small clubhouse facility ( if you are planing a larger group)

greens are still a bit on the firm side,,,,we had a 45 minute lightening storm delay and they were much more receptive on the back!!

I did notice a sign on the way to the Drving range that said "future home of the clubhouse". Although for a "temp" clubhouse, it's nicer than most. As you said very small but better than a trailer.

I have to agree, the course is sweet!

Great course, played it last September, most enjoyable day there and would love to play it again but that may have to wait until 2008.:(

I knew you'd enjoy it!

On the fast/firm greens - this is when a laser range finder comes in handy. You laser the pin and subtract accordingly based on the roll you expect from your shot. I really can't believe how long I've played without a laser...its my second best golf investment since my rain gloves.

$150-ish is a decent deal...

How long is the drive?

Their website says 90 minutes from Toronto...Is that more or less accurate?

I believe it was 90 minutes from 400 & 7, my playing partner TP3 was told. Which was very accurate. It's very close to Taboo which I can do from my house in just under 2 hours. (I'm in the leslie & Steeles area...)

Those greens are unbeleivably hard. I play there in July when it was hot and dry. My jaw nearly hit the floor when I first hit the green from about 50 yards out, it sounded like the ball landed on a kitchen counter... i just started laughing because the sound was unlike any I had ever heard before from a green.

Anyways, as has already been said, it really is a beutiful course.
