Go to Enjoie GC, Endicott, NY. Former home of the BC Open and now hosts a Sr Tour event. Excellent greens, mature parkland layout.

I think that is somewhat out of the way from the quickest route to New York from here isn't it?

Sorry it's Endicott, NY (just outside of Binghamton) not Elmira. I've corrected my post.
Google shows going thru Rochester>Syracuse>Binghamton as the route to go. Not sure if there's a better way.
Anyway I've heard Turning Stone is also good. They had the BC Open there a few years ago, when Enjoie was out of commission because of river flooding.

i've done the new york drive many times planet and have found going through albany to be the quickest. I've done both routes cuz I have family in Philadelphia and New York, its not much much longer...but I find it can sometimes save an hour and some times a little more going through albany

Try the Bethpage State golf courses on Long Island. It's about 30 minutes from NYC. Yes, there is the famous black course.... you must have your A++ game to play, that's if you're there early enough to get a tee time. There are 4 other solid courses, the red, blue green and yellow. If you do go, try the red. NOTE non residents pay double the fee's.

Go to Enjoie, trust me it's excellent. $33 during the week, $50 on weekends.
As long as you don't mind that it's not the quickest route to NY but it's not that much of a detour. It will break up your drive nicely too.

Seems like i got to stop at Syracuse and Endicott and keep golfing there for the weekend. Hmmm... I may never get to NY city then.

Try to play The Architects Club in New Jersey.... Not far from NYC. Amazing golf course - each hole is designed after a notable golf course architect.

Bethpage Black all the way, if you can swing it.
Oh, if you know any NYC hedge fund managers, maybe they have coughed up the $500K initiation to join here:
