Live 8... if you haven't heard of it, you must have been under a rock!
I have a couple extra tickets that I'm looking to sell, if you are interested, let me know.

For everyone who thinks that it's stupid to pay for free tickets then you must not be reading the news. Before ebay took down tickets that were up for auction, they were running as high as US$1800... so trust me when I say that there are people who believe these tickets are worth it.
As for why I'm selling these, well, I work with street-involved youth (call it social work if you will)... I have a group of kids who want to go to Barrie to see the concert (they all have their tickets), and they can't afford to pay for the transportaion, food, etc. I have decided to pass up my tickets in exchange for giving them the opportunity to go. This is why I'm looking to sell these tickets.

I don't think it's stupid for people to pay for free tickets, that is not what I am saying at all...

yeah seriously. Those tickets going for $1800 were people wanting to see U2 or Pink Floyd reunited. That's a far cry from the lineup in Barrie.

Some people don't have a problem paying for stolen golf equipment, ....I say "thanks but no thanks". Everybody has the option of making their own decisions about what is right/wrong. Personally I would never pay for Live 8 tickets.

I'd actually rather watch it from the comfort of my air conditioned living room. I don't have to deal with the ridiculous traffic on the 400.

Does anyone know what times the different bands will be performing at?

Contrary to what Bob Geldof said, I don't think there is anything wrong with the buying and selling of free Live 8 tickets: it's a capitalistic world we're in after all. And the purpose of this whole thing is to raise awareness (re: third world problems like poverty and debts, etc.), and I don't see how that would be undermined.

For those who haven't got the chance, here's my ticket for your viewing pleasure:

I too may not go to the concert myself, but I intend to help by talking more about it in my capacity. :)

Completely in agreement with anyone who thinks Barrie is a bad choice of venue for the concert. Although the concert stadium (Park Palce) is "supposed" to hold 35,000... it's parking lot only hold 7,000 cars. Don't forget that for 35,000 people, there's going to be a lot of staff. And a large part of the parking lot will be designated seperate from the public for the performers. "I pity the fool" who decided to choose Barrie over Downsview Park in Toronto.
