She is hot - lol

As for the course. Its decent. A couple of very interesting holes. But not fabulous. Their rates are up this year and that takes them off my list. No longer worth the drive.

I've played Watson's Glen from it's beginning as a 9 hole course. I liked it then and continue to like it today. It is a well conditioned course and I like the hole designs.

One of the bigger pros about it for me is that they didn't sink a ton of money into a fancy clubhouse and invested in the course first!

great comment !!!!!

most of us non corporate golfers want to play a good golf course that is kept in good condition at a fair price. we will buy a few bevies and a dog or sandwich and that is it.....we dont need the bells and whistles and like to get home to family or whatever after 4-5 hrs away.

I have played Watsons twice,,,,,,it cost me roughly $60 or so to walk and the course at that price was a screaming deal !!

I dont know what they charge now, but it is a v good course for the money and I would rank it with Oakridge and Glen Cedars in the area..... Royal Ashburn is also good but was over $100 with cart when I played this summer

I still say its marginally overpriced. I guess if you compare to seaton and annandale its priced per what the market bears. I only play it once or twice a year.

Watson's Glen is substantially better than Seaton and Annandale. Course conditions are good and there is an interesting variety of holes.

I was referencing the price of their green fees compared to WG. If they are at $40, then WG is reasonably justifed charging $60.

if you look at the courses around watsons you will find it competitive with lakeridge and oakridge as far as price is concerned but as far as condition I find it much better than lakeridge and oakridge i would compare it to royal ashburn yet a little cheaper.
Might be my biased opinion as i am the spray technician there.

Understood, but I still wouldn't pay $40 to play Seaton or Annandale, but I'd gladly pay $60 for WG. I also think Glen Cedars is decent value out that way.

I think of WG as the poor man's Royal Ashburn. A couple of holes are overly tricked up, IMO, but it's a fun course all in all.

Unfortunately, I seem to have the knack for getting paired up with some of the, ahem, "older" members (I'm 59 myself) who are not bad guys really, but play a very casual game -- 6' gimmes etc. -- that I don't enjoy. They tend also to be not especially welcoming of outsiders such as myself.

That's just my experience (early morning weekdays usually) and it's too bad it sticks in my head, but it does.
