Estimating distances in the course

How to estimate distances in the course? I have a device which can measure distance to the pole but I don't wanna slow down looking at pole before every shot. I'd love if I have some laser thingy.

There are some white and blue sticks, 2 feet tall in every hole. What are those?

blue sticks = 200 yards to the middle of the green
white sticks = 150 yards to the middle of the green
red sticks = 100 yards to the middle of the green

(I used search but maybe it's too generic)I had bought the cheaper model range finder,Bushnell Yardage Pro X500 Laser Rangefinder and couldnt lock onto the flag unless it was windy,so I have given up and returned it.
