I wanted to post this just to let people know that I got an Albatross this past weekend and see if anyone else out there has gotten one.
I was playing Deer Creek South and on the Emerald Course #6 - Par 5. I hit my drive 302 yards (they have GPS) with 177 yards left to the hole, a front pin placement and a breeze from behind I chose to hit a 7 iron (normally my 160-165 club). It bounced just in front of the green rolled on and into the cup. As I was the last to hit and going for it in 2 the entire group was standing and watching. We saw it drop and everyone went nuts.
My best golf shot ever.
Cheers,

ain't Golf funny....I'll bet some of the peeps in your group, and the group behind you were thinking..."great, he's waiting for the green to clear" (i.e., Slowing down the pace), THEN BOOM, it's in....and THEY'RE the ones Slowing down the pace!!! :D
Nicely done! ;)

Wow Congrats! I bet that feels like a Hole-In-One... Not that I would know what either one would feel like!

Congrats Steve. It's a rare treat to be able to watch such a shot disappear into the hole. I came very close to one on a par 5 at Redstone earlier this year. Hit the bottom of the stick and bounced 5 feet away. At least the eagle made it easier to take the miss! Savor the moment!

Even hitting a 7 iron for your second shot on a par 5 is fun enough. Having that 7 iron shot go in ...... Priceless.
Congrats!

Awesome. Rarer than a hole in one. Good job.

Earlier in the season I was close on #9. Driver, 3W from 235yds; ball rolled dead on the stick but stopped 2' short.
And I darn near got an albatross on #18 at Whitecourt on Wednesday. I went Driver, 4 rescue club from 200 yards. Ball rolled right by the stick, we thought it might hit it but it went by to the top edge of the green.
Eagled both, which was nice... :)
Still have never had an albatross, that has to be neat.
Btw, Tad Fujikara (I think that's the right name), had an albatross playing on the Euro-Tour today.
