I noticed on the Golf Town website that they had a set of irons by Founders Club that appear to be all "hybrid" style rather than traditional irons above the 3 & 4 Hybrid. Has anybody played clubs like this.
Would they be worth considering for a high handicapper.
Thanks

Cleveland, Adams & Ben Hogan have them too (Hogans are harder to find)

Yes.. but only if you wanted to stay a mid to high handicap.. eventually you will want to learn to hit a proper iron IMHO I do not think I could ever warm up to hybrids in my short irons

100% with ya. I don't see myself using a hybrid ever really. The main draw to the game of golf for myself is the challenge, I feel hybrids are too easy to hit.

I agree IMO if you were someone who played just a few rounds a year and were looking for the most help you could get from your clubs and were not intending playing regularly or taking lessons ( or hoping to really cut your handicap down significantly) then these would probably be a good idea.
They are aimed at higher handicappers and are usually easier to hit out of the rough when u miss the fairways.
But if you intend to play regularly and want to improve your handicap then i wouldnt recommend these types of sets.
Most golfers now ( i assume?) carry at least 1 hybrid in there bags anyway to replace the long irons ( 2+3 irons usually ) and some people (like myself) carry 2.
I think thats enough for most people..even if your a high handicapper you should soon be ok hitting your short irons (6 iron down to your wedges) and you probably wouldnt be any better at hitting the hybrids of the same loft.

I respectfully DISAGREE....I have played for 30+ years, and my handicap is a solid 14-15 for the last few years, so it is something I'm considering.
Who really knows?
I remember the "Pros" would NEVER use GRAPHITE shafts not-so-long-ago.
....as long as it's LEGAL, worth a try! IMHO.
