my swing plane is too steep when i come down (or at least that's what everyone is telling me).
can anyone help me flatten out my swing? maybe some drills? :confused:

hmmm...I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "too steep"? Are you trying too hard to hit down on the ball? sometimes thinking of hitting down on the ball to get backspin or to hit a nice divot will do that to you...I might be totally misunderstanding you right now.

imagine really taking your club head back in a straight line along the target line and coming down that same path. that is an exageration but hopefully it will give you an idea what i mean.

I think your problem is similar to my problem of lifting the club up too soon. Try the reverse of the drill I posted; maybe that'll help.

thanks evian, will do. i noticed that when you were describing your problem, a lot of lights when on. i guess i didn't phrase my question very clearly.

My 9 year, flat, single axis swing sometimes wants to become my former 34 year old conventional, upright swing. In practice I place a white board about 4' long pointing towards the ball at an angle of about 30 degrees. As I come down I try to have the club head pass over this line, which cannot be done unless you flatten the downswing. Also, I will place this board on the same angle but closer to my body and when I go back I will try and have my hands pass over the board.
