Just a general thread to see what people are using in their drivers for a shaft.
What make, model, stiffness....etc....
What shafts have you tried and liked, or hated.
Have you purchased & used an 'exotic' like a Diamana Red/Blue/White Board, Axiv, Epic, Ozik....etc Were they worth the money?

I have a 110 + ss and an aggressive tempo and transition and a early -mid release
as such I prefer a shaft with a bit of heft and one that is tip and butt stiff.
right now shafts in my varios drivers are
Rapport Blue Velvet x-stiff
Accuflex Icon ( original) Reg flex
Fuji Vista Tour stiff flex
Accuflex JLG Ultraboom x-stiff
Graffaloy Comp NT 85 stiff tipped an inch
Accuflex acculaunch 80 x-stiff
whether a shaft is $30 or $300 is really not important , getting the shaft profile that fits your swing is and then having it set up properly depending on the BBGM , weight etc of the head it is going into.

for what its worth...a wise man on this forum once said to me...
Golf companies put a lot of time and effort into building the stock shafts that come in our favourite off the shelf drivers. They are excellent shafts, and if it works for you, stick to them.
Oddly enough, I think he's quite correct. My old r7460 i could barely hit the club with a v2 regular, or an axiv that i put in it. Everytime i switched back to the stock fuji reax that came with it, i was bombing the ball into the fairway.
NOw looking at my SQ SUMO, I've been loving the stock Diamana that nike has put in it. This driver combo is a bomber for me, and definitly a fairway finder. I even convinced the same guy who told me about stock shafts to go pick up a SUMO and he know has one in the bag (for now..lol)
So to answer your question...I'm a Regular flex guy. So far (until the separated shoulder) I'm loving the Stock Diamana in the SUMO. I also have nothing but great things to say about the stock FUJI Reax in the r7 460.
It's all about finding a shaft that is fit for you!

the speeder 757 X had been the best for me, I have tried alot of shafts... and it just seems to feel the best.....I found the diamana blueboard not to be stiff enough.

I've used this season in various drivers.
Diamana White Board Ion Flowerband D63 R
Diamana Red Board Ion Flowerband M63 R
Daiwa Roddio W5BA R
Mamiya Axiv V-Spec Mamiya Axiv 5058
Mamiya Axiv 5052L
Mamiya Axiv 6060L
Ozik Code 6 R
Ozik X-Con 5 R
NGS Mach Line Proto 5350 R
Graphite Design Tour Ad PT-5 R
Graphite Design Tour AD Quattro Tech 55 R
Graphite Design Tour AD SL-4
Fujikura Rombax 4X07 R
Fujikura Rombax 5X07 R
All high end shafts, all worth the money, they all complimented my swing in one way or another... one thing I find about the high end JDM shaft market is that the shafts provide a lot of feel and subperb balance unlike some cheaper shafts that feel dead and like boards. They are not cheap for sure but there is a lot of good technology in there. That said the best fit for me is Axiv so far.

What make, model, stiffness....etc....
TourIQ > Aldila ONE 65-R, Mid Launch, but soon to be hitting the Harrison Pro 3.5, 50 gram, A or R flex [depending on blind bore or through bore]
Note: I wanted the Harrison shaft to shave off another 10+ grams on total club weight.
Forgedblade > Grafalloy COMP NT Nano, 65-X tipped [61 grams, actual flex measured is XX] ... plays like a telephone pole but he loves it
Dwiggy > Aldila NV [green] 55-S [a pull from an older club used by forgedblade]
No real exotic or expensive shafts in the above mix ...

I use a fujikura pro 95 x flex driver shaft. The only other "higher end" shaft I had tried was a 757, but it felt like a wet noodle. Before that is was stock Callaway shafts or steel.

That is certainly my recent experience.
I tried a wide variety of different high quality shafts with the same TM Superquad TP head.
The most consistent, farthest hitting shaft was the stock TM TP shaft.

I have always just played the Stock shafts that come with the clubs. Currently I have the R7 460 with the stock shaft and I hate it. It launches way too high. Of course when testing it on the sim it was fine but as soon as I took it out I hated the trajectory. The only custom shaft I ever had was a stiff Grafalloy Blue. I loved it but it still hit higher than what I like. I bought a Nike Ignite 410 off ebay with an stock X-stiff shaft - it was 8.5 degrees and the trajectory was better but I didn't like the feel, couldn't feel where the ball was going.
I need to reshaft the 460 but I will wait until I can get to a fitter than can help determine what is best and get me the trajectory I want.

This season, I hit tons of shafts. let's see.... i swing about 105mph.
Graman Limey UL540 (currently playing)
Accuflex Creation 65s
Grafalloy Epic
IROD Driver
Prolaunch Blue
Diamana 83 Blueboard
Fuji 757
Proforce V2 HL
Proforce V2
I'm a big fan of Graman though. $50 shaft performs just as nice as the big boys!

Also have tried many. Tend to like the old Grafalloy Blue, either stiff or Xstiff.
I have two drivers in play right now and they both have this shaft.

Accra T40, BB Solutions and I'm about to try a Graman UL540 that Special K likes...The Accra is great as is Ultra light weight shaft and the BB Solutions is working well as a mid weight (60ish). Also had some decent results with the Fuji E150 R2, just not as much as the Accra.

UST Proforce V2 75 - cut down to 44"
Very good shaft, really need to be sure of my tempo and clearing my hips to generate the necessary hand speed to get through impact properly.
Nice high launch, moderate spin rate on the ball also.

I've tried lots of shafts during my various fittings. I've had great success with the Speeder 757 x-flex but couldn't buy it so i went the the next best shaft for me which was the NV 85X that is currently still in my Nak 380 9.5* head.
My current driver Propulsion 460 i have shafted is a Accra SE80* M5 which before i tried the XE80 M4 which was too soft for my swing caused too much backspin which led to ballooning.

i have tried a few shafts this year:
Ozik Code 6
Accra T60 M4
both were stiff and they were both WICKED! I really didn't find an improvement of the Code 6 over the Accra T60 and i don't think i will be switching. Even if i switch heads, i think the T60 will be going into it.
Bottom line, the Code 6 was about 3-4 times more expensive, and yet i hit the Accra better and straighter.

My current joy is Aldila VS Proto 80 X-flex feels great in the Callaway FT5 tour and a bit stiff in the 905R maybe because of the borethrough.

Start of the season was using a Grafalloy Prolaunch blue. Switched out to an Accra T50 which is producing some cannon shots and have added a ton of extra distance.

My SS ranges from the upper 80's to low 90's. The best fit for me has been the Accra T60 M3 (Reg Flex). This shaft provides a higher launch and just the right amount of spin for great carry and overall distance.
I know companies put much thought into selecting stock shafts but... some stock shafts are great and some stock shafts are not so great. My previous driver combo with stock shaft caused balls to knuckle in the air (not enough spin?!) and fall out of the sky early.

I have a TM Superquad with a stock shaft wtih Stiff flex. My son has the same driver but with the regular flex shaft. I find that with the stiff flex I get much better accuracy. For now we each have the appropriate shaft for our swing speeds. In 10 years we might be swapping drivers.

NVS 65S in my R7 460 - nice high ball flight here. Shaft has a lot of feel to it.
Fuji REAX Rombax in my R7 425 TP - much lower ball flight in this one. Hard to hit off line
