i have a habit of coming too inside on my downswing causing pushes, especially with the driver.
went to the range today, and i think i worked it out. this is what i did to fix:
- concentrated on pivoting around my right hip on the backswing. getting a feeling of pushing the right hip back and completing my shoulder turn feeling majority of my weight on the inside of the right heel.
- had more of a feeling of swinging from the top with my right arm gradually straightening, instead of pulling the right elbow into my side during the transition.
i really worked on swinging slowly and watching my clubpath through the impact area and those 2 things made my path almost perfect. focusing on these things, i really only hit about 2-3 bad shots out of a bucket. however, on occasion, the path was very slightly outside-in (confirmed with the ball flying slightly left of target and turning back on line to target.)
it seems like a develop bad habits when i fail to focus on completing my shoulder turn and pivot.
does this sound crazy or (excuse the pun) right on target?
