In case anyone has notice my "signature' has changed.....which means I got my new clubs!!!:D I picked them up yesterday. I ended going with the Snake Eyes 600C's 3-/pw. I bent the 3 iron 2 degrees strong, and the 4 iron 1 deg strong in order to keep a consistent 4 degrees from club. I also bent the lob wedge to 57 degrees which gives me 6 degrees between my gap and lob wedge. All the irons are 2 degrees upright. Very nice lines on the heads, a blade type of setup with a nice muscle back cavity. I really like the meatiness of the muscle back. More of a straight across muscle as opposed to a tear drop that many of the OE's use. A very solid "hit". Very nice heads to work with according to my fitter. Soft as butter were his actual words

I went with the E21 shaft 5.5 flex and 1/2" over standard. These shafts are very nice. It is hard to describe them, but it is definetly a different feeling from either steel or graphite. THe ball really has a nice high penetrating flight, particularily in the wind.

From what my club fitter said the material used for the E21's is a new a different material. Essentially it gives you the strength and consistency of steel, but the feel of graphite. I am really looking forward to learning my new clubs, and after the service I have received and the quality of the component heads used I would say the OE's have lost a customer forever.:shhh:

I have pics and will post them soon. ;)

NO!!!!!!!!!!! I AM STUCK AT WORK TODAY......WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY OUTSIDE TOO!!!!

I'm still a Hogannut though!! I still have the woods and actually love them and have no plans on changing them anytime soon. Also my new 9.5" mini-tour bag that I now use on my new 3-wheeler is a Hogan bag, so I am still Hogannut!!

It's funny because more than likely Mr Hogan is in heaven looking down and is very upset his name is being stamped on clubs being made in China. ANything other than Ft Worth would not make him happy....IMO.

Anyway, I cannot say enough about the quality and service I received going with high end components and having them assembled by a certified club builder. He was attentive, and allowed me to watch every aspect of the assembly process. As I said it took over an hour yesterday doing all the final specs on the clubs. I know for sure the clubs are what he says they are, becuase I saw it with my own eyes. You don't get service like that through OE's and big retailers.

I have no problem with big retailers for anything other than equipment, and I do purchase a lot of my golf supplies through Golftown. In fact last week I got a sweet deal on a pair of Adidas 360s'. GT had a pair of mis-matches, a 2006 model and a 2007 model. A slight difference in the stripes and the sole of the shoe and I got them for $50!! These shoes sell at retail for $230, so a great deal obviously. So please don't think I am totally anti big retail and OE, but as far as equipment is concerned this is the best purchase I have ever made in terms of customer satisfaction!
