Can anyone suggest a softer feeling ball that performs better in the colder weather.

This is almost too easy, like a slowpitch floater coming in right over the plate, but I am going to resist.
Any of the lower compression balls, maybe the new 50/50 or a Laddie.

I have no idea what you are talking about.
Anyway I wanted to try the new Wilson 50/50 earlier in the summer but the very knowledgable salesman at GT gave a really bad review. Anyone else have some experience with the Wilson 50/50?

Come on dude really???

Anyhow, read the D2 Feel review thread, I think there were a few favourable reviews listed there...

Wilson has a new ball. The first 'zero' compression core. I guess you couldn't get any softer than that.

Yes I play Delhi as well. But only in the off season because they stay open quite late in the season. Just about time to be heading back there.

I only found out last year that the owner said he does not close his course in the winter. If you want to play just call first. He said he was only had a handful of days that noone showed.

Actually the soft cover performance balls are worse than the hard covers in cool weather. You will lose more distance and feel with say a Pro V1 compared to a Top Flite. Generally when it gets below say 10-12 degrees i will switch to a harder ball and deal with the poor feel. I also don't like losing $6 golf balls in the leaves!!

Interesting post. I bought some Titleist DT solo's for the colder months and found they worked pretty good overall.

I agree, usually use rocks like Pinnacles when the weather gets cold.

Then again, my balls were feeling hard before the cold weather.

Baaaahhhhh ha ha ha ha....dude..I'm crackin here!! I hear of things getting a little "nippley" when it gets cold....but come on! :D

On to the subject at hand....I used to use Precept Laddies when the weather got cold and just adjusted like a pitch and run near the greens because they wouldnt hold as nice as my Platinums. One ball that I found and tried was the Titleist DT SoLo....those things go a mile too.

Sometimes people just like to make light jokes to relieve some stress from their every day grind. Some whole threads are a waste of brain cells to read but funny none the less. And then are those of us trying like heck to avoid growing up. :help:

It's all good, brother. Just giggle and tilt a pint.

Ya ya I get it. I don't really care but I would hope for something a little more clever. It's a golf forum so there is a lot of talk about balls, shafts and holes, not to mention the bush and the stroke. It's just too easy and obvious....

I find that a strategically placed "hot pocket" will help keep your balls warm and thus make it so they don't feel so hard...
