Continuing on with the talk I've read in the Solhiem Cup thread, what are peoples opinions about golf in the olympics? Personally I would love to see, to see a true comparison of country vs country. My issues with international play like Solheim or Ryder's, or Presidents Cup is it is the States vs everyone else. The international team is made of players from more than one country, so it can be difficult to determine how good an individual country may or may not be. So if golf were added to the olympics each country could put a team together.
THe next question assuming this was to happen is should the countries be allowed to send professinals to the olympics instead of amatuers. IMO....the olympics were initially thought up for amatuer competition, and should have remained like that. However the all mighty dollar prevailed and more people will go to the host country and/or watch it on TV with known professinal players, but I think that is wrong.
Do you think golf would work in the olympic environment and should it be amatuers or pros, AND, what kind of format would you play. Stroke vs match for example.;)
