All I want is one little thing changed in the code so that the program will work and I get a hard time. And the worst of it is when he comes over to my desk to discuss this he picks up my Callaway ball I have sitting on my golf ball stand and starts to play with it like its a stress ball. Sigh!!!. Going to wash my golf ball.

You do realise that probably half to board is involved in IT in some way or another. If I can delay changing your code for the afternoon I can go golfing.

Tell me about!

I love the way they throw around "oh, that will cost $1mil or so" when ever we try to help around here at our office.

By the way, tell him to keep his dirty paws off your ball!

Why am I having to tell them what to change anyway. I'm just a lowley systems administrator. When I deploy policies for published apps, its like its my fault when they don't work. Twice in the last month I've had to research a code problem and fix it.
But thats not really what I'm mad about. They should know to leave my balls alone.

You should never let another man touch your balls, unless he's your doctor.

I can't speak for this individual but I wouldn't touch your balls.

Dear BA's: Is it plugged in? Did you turn it on? Usually solves 90% of your IT problems:p.

Now that was just completely uncalled for. Whats wrong with my balls?
Ok I think we've about got enough mileage out of that joke on these boards in the last couple of days.

The problem is often the disconnect between the business and IT. The lack of communication and understanding of "the other side" kills productivity.

There is absolutely no excuse for messing around with the personal items on your desk though. You need guys that are more than just "Programmers" :)
