Any qualified tips on this. It has cost me dearly from a physical standpoint.
A pro has me sticking my left foot way out, open and its helping curb it.

Feel like on your back swing, your shoulders turn more horizontal to the ground so that your left shoulder turns nice and relaxed over your right knee. Dont forget to keep your right knee bent in a strong position; dont let it collapse.

If you turn your left shoulder "down" too much you will develope a reverse pivot. turn the plane of your shoulders more horizontal to the ground (the opposite of turning your left shoulder down to the ground).

A reverse pivot doesn't happen in the backswing with the weight moving to the front foot, it happens in the throughswing with the weight moving to the back foot. The weighted front foot is a basic premise of the Stack and Tilt swing so popular on tour right now.

Stack and Tilt also requires the left shoulder to move down and under, as opposed to a more horizontal move.

It all sounds completely counter-intuitive to traditional golf instruction, but what is there about the golf swing that isn't counter-intuitive?

Frankly, the traditional golf swing encourages my definition of a reverse pivot by getting the player too much on the back foot and too far away from the ball at the top of the backswing. It's just too easy to get stuck back there and not be able to make the necessary weight shift to get off the back foot. The result - a reverse pivot.

Golfstar, this seems to be me exactly. I still get my weight onto my front foot, but have difficulty keeping my right knee bent. This too has been instructed to me by a pro, thats a tough one!
On to check out the videos suggested on this.

Thanks,
RB
