I just wanted to share an experience I had this past weekend. I was coming out of a local Shoppers Drugmart on Sunday, and noticed a guy and his wife standing next to my pickup. When I got close, he came over and asked me if the plate on the front of my truck was accurate. I have a personalized plate on the front (Louisiana tag on back). Here's a pic of my front plate.
9270
When I replied that it was, he grabbed my hand, gave me a firm handshake and a hug, and said "thank you". His wife then did the same. They were the parents of one of the soldiers killed in Kosovo. They just wanted to say that they appreciated someone who thought enough about national security to serve 20 years in the military. When I explained that it was the US military, he said it didn't matter because it's all part of NATO. When I got back to my truck, I coulnd't drive for a few minutes. Talk about an emotional meeting.

So many are so quick to criticize.. so few know (including myself) what real sacrafice is.

I am always appreciative of those who served so I can have my way of life.

Thanks!

Very nice story, nice that these 2 people will go home knowing some people care. I'm sure you made their day a little brighter. Tom.

Indeed they do.

A very nice story, and you should be justifiably proud.

(and it sure does put this golf stuff in proper perspective, doesn't it?)
