Time to Leave TGN

The absurdity and unequal treatment of individuals on this board has made me decide to quit today.

It seems a select few individuals can get away with murder and with constantly provoking other individuals with their utter nonsense that I no longer wish to be a part of this community. This is in part a moderation problem but it is also a problem of people thinking they are somehow more 'honest' to infer silly conclusions about other individuals and to attack their would-be hypothetical actions based upon amateur psychoanalysis.

This was an amazing community and I am very happy I was a part of it. I have slowly watched it transform into a few individuals picking fights with others and making negative comments consistently throughout their posts. I get enough negativity throughout the day unwillingly and I refuse to voluntarily subject myself to it any further than that which i cannot avoid.

To those who have consistently provided humourous comments and wity insights it has been a pleasure. To those who accuse others of never being able to take a joke, I think you need to look at yourself and put yourself in other people's shoes and perhaps be willing to be joked with yourself and not take things so seriously. The people who complain about other's being too sensitive are almost always (in the case of this board) the one's who end up being the worst offenders who are unable to take a joke themselves.

Thanks Howie! You know there is an easier way to handle this than leaving the site.... You can choose to ignore any user/s you'd like. It's as if they don't exsist on the forum and you'll never see their posts again. I've used this feature many times in the past when I wasn't a moderator :eek:

I think this forum is a little bit of a closer community than many other net forums. It's been mentioned before that if we expect members to introduce themselves (an act that I forgot to do), we could expect the same if they decide to leave. It's like being at a party. You wouldn't just leave without saying good-bye. You want your friends to know you're gone and why you left. This is his "good-bye"... or as it seems to be the case lately... his, "see you later". Hopefully it's just a cooling off period. I'm sure the other party (not mentioning names here) didn't mean anything by it. I've had my own beef with his posting style before but we worked it out... just chalked it up to his own personality and once you get that, you'll take his posts a little lighter... I have.

I have to say, I agree!, I wish people would just stop taking these opinions so personally. If you don't like what someone says don't read their posts anymore, don't bother in replying to anything they write, stop whinning about what you don't have any control over, "someone else's opinion."
We all will continue to say things to each other that we don't agree with or take issue with, but if you want to challenge someone on it be ready to take some heat over it and not put your tail between your legs and to look for the closest door to run through. If that's the way a person wants to react to someone else's comment well there must be other forums that every one sit's in a circle once a week and have group hug's. Go play 18 together and have a few beer and stop letting some comments ruin your fun here.

Have to agree there. Nothing wrong with stirring the pot a little, as long as it's not just being stirred for the sake of being stirred. I have no problem with opinionated posters, as long as nothing is said with malicious intent. Reading thru the post in question, I'd say the former is truer than the latter.:$

No way. This is unbeleivable. Some of the other recent bannings may have been justified but to ban guitarman over this is over the top. This site is getting nuts.

I'm starting to think that maybe we should have a folder where people can talk back and forth, stirring pots knowing that everybody that is involved in the topic doesn't take things the wrong way.
