Anybody watch the game on Leafs TV?? It was a great game that felt more like the 70th game than it did feel like a preseason game.
If you didn't, watch Sportscentre tonight/tomorrow morning to see the highlights, especially Spezza's play for Eaves to score the winner in overtime!!

That overtime goal should be played before every leafs game against the Sens in the Leafs dressing room....Spezza made the Leafs P.K. look inept. Not much change from last year...nice shot from Pohl though. Raysoft looks about the same to.
Pre-season hockey is akin to PGA golf after the last major, but I've been jonesing for some puck. At least they put the pre-season games on the web for free.

Very good game for an exhibition game...why was McCabe not covering Eaves on the OT winner

I was listening to the first period at the gym. When I got home I watched Heroes. I did see some of the 3rd and saw they tied it up. The Leafs will be better this year and may get a playoff spot. The teachers union should get its 10% ROI.

For a preseason game, I thought it was entertaining. Both teams big guns (Sundin/Blake & Spezza/Heatley) had great games and Perrot demoed Bois. It wasn't even close. Somewhere in Edmonton Sheldon Souray is telling himself that he's ecstatic to not have to face Spezza 8 times this year. So far Spezza's been the best player in every game and made opposing defenses look silly. If he continues to play the way he has, he'll finish up with 100 points and Heatley will score 60.
FWIW, I thought Sundin's goal should have counted. He redirected it and that's allowed. I can't understand why the ref didn't go upstairs on that one.
Nice to see Gerber stopping pucks again. The first goal was a little weak, but he was solid the rest of the night. Hopefully GM's around the league are noticing and Murray can dump him so Heatley/Spezza can have some of his money.
That Blake/Sundin pairing looks to be a really good one. Leafs fans will be in for a treat if they continue to play like they did last night. Steen looked good on that line too. It only took the Leafs 10+ years to get Sundin a winger, but they finally did it.

Well Murray better be fast at signing Heater, as he has told his agent that he will not talk contract during the season.... SO its either sign him in the next week, or fight the other 29 teams that are gonna salivate over him, and offer him the moon.

Melnyk's in town to meet with Heatley's agents. If that's the case, then you have to think that they're down to the nitty gritty. I can see a 6 year/$50 milion deal getting done. When talking those kinds of terms, the big cheese will typically want to get involved when things are getting close.
When Heatley signs, Spezza will fall into place as well. I can even see Redden sticking around long term as well.

Everybody always wants Yonge Street to be the street for the parade. I think it should be University Ave. Much nicer looking street for the TV audience. Might as well show off the city while we're celebrating!

University Ave is nice, but why would you want a parade going through Carleton University?? I would think there are much nicer places in Ottawa to have a parade, but you are entitled to your own opinion!:rofl:
Personally i would put it on Wellington, in front of parliament.

You could go down Front Street too, then you could show off the CN tower and Sky Dome, Rogers centre, whatever!:D

Redden is all but done as a Sen. There is no room for a $6M D man in Ottawa next year. And someone else will gladly pay him $6M per over a 4-5 year contract. The Sens won't as they will have to pay Heatley and Spezza.
