Hi,
I want to find a driving range which has good distance markings so I can chart out my iron distances. Most of the ranges near me (Centennial) have poor distance markings and as a result I end up eyeballing my distances (i.e. "hmmm, this looks like a 7 iron".)
Also, does anyone use the short-range area at the Family Golf Center in Oakville? Just wondering if its as good as they describe.
Cheers.

I live northwest, so I've been to most ranges in the area - and i work right next to Centennial Park, so I know what you're talking about... ;)
The best in my opinion is the Old Pro at Bovaird and Mississauga Road. Very reasonable prices too, with an excellent short game facility.

I have to agree with you. Great short game facility. Good deals as well, $5 for an hour in the short game, or 3 large bucket tickets for $20.
Andy Bathgate's is ok, from what I can remember no real short game area though.

I second and third this.
Old Man Pro is the Rolls Royce of driving range.

there's the Dome on #50 just south of #7. It has a driving range, putting green, practice bunkers and a very decent 9hole par 3 for very low price.
Much better than the FGC in Oakville.

I don't know the new name of it. It has changed owners several times since Mark Evershed was there. Only 1/3 of the inside is now dedicated to golf, the rest is floorhockey and soccer.
However the outside practice and course is kept open till end of Oct.
If you drive up 427 you will see it on your left side just before you reach #7.Turn left on #7 and left on #50. Entrance is across from the Humber Nursery Garden Centre.
