I'm surprised nobody posted about this already. I'm sure you've heard by now that terrorists set off 4 bombs in London's financial district killing 37 and injuring over 700. Worst attack on British soil since WWII. This was scary stuff to hear about this morning as I was driving. My first thought was "OMG, 911 again..." My condolences to all the victims and their families. :(

i watched the news the morning...very sad indeed...
wonder if this has anything to do with G8 Summit Meeting...or..the fact that London won the olympic bid...some good timing there
pretty busy day at work,
just heard about the stories now...Tony Blair stressed that "We know that these people act in the name of Islam, but we also know that the vast and overwhelming majority of Muslims here and abroad are decent, law abiding people who abhor the act of terrorism every bit as much as we do"
such a tragic event especially after the Olympic 2012 bid victory.

unfortuneately this sort of thing can happen ANYTIME/ANYWHERE, and no amount of security is gonna stop EXTREMISTS!
but...I'm not living my life in fear!
...just one day at a time (just like scoring in golf);)

Agreed.
Anyone, anywhere can cause disaster if he / she chooses when the consequences of their actions mean nothing to them. :nono:
I'm finding it difficult to find a solution to this continued BS

Long gone is the time when a country like the USA and Uk can just invade and bomb a country without getting it right back. Unfortunately innocent people are the ones that suffer. There really is no way to defend or end this terrorist stuff. It can happen anytime and anyplace. Has nothing to do with the Olympics.......

Sad, sad indeed.
The real scary part is listening to all those American politicians and terror specialists saying "... wherever Al-Quada is right now ..."
These guys have no clue whatsoever. It shows that this dumb Iraq war had absolute nothing to do with fighting terrorism. It only served some politicians own agenda. I agree with Michael Moore, they don't wan't to find Bin Laden. Fear is such a powerful instrument to realize their own agendas, why would Bush & Co. want to give that up?!

There is no solution when it's done in the name of religion. These people think what they're doing will bring them closer to their god. It's very scary that Canada's on their published hit list as well (US, Australia, England, Canada) so it's really just a matter of time since the other 3 have been hit. As someone who commutes into work by Go Train on the busiest line this is unsettling to say the least.

do the united states not know where the training camps for these suiside bombers are. i have seen video footage on CNN many times. why don't they send a few bombs in to there compounds.
they are only there to prepare for there own death and the murder of inocent people. i have no problem with getting rid of them before they are ready to kill.
don"t get me wrong i don"t agree with most of the united states decisions. i believe there is alot of evil south of us. they have there own motives. (oil)

Well, let me think ... Where's Bin Laden from? Saudi Arabia. Where are most of the terrorists responsible for the attacks on 9/11 from? Saudi Arabia. Where's Bin Laden's chief strategist who masterminded 9/11 from? Hm, Saudi Arabia.
Which country in the Far East are the US least worried about to be a breeding place for terrorists? Saudi Arabia. ??? Which country in the far East have the Bush family & Co. excellent business connections with (including the Bin Laden family I might add)? Saudi Arabia!
Any more questions?

Any relation to Michael Moore? :D
the bombs were planted in London's transit systems, they weren't set off by suicide bombers.

That doesn't change anything. The point is that they didn't get there by themselves.
All good points hairbo.

I just wonder if their motives are based solely on religion, I think a lot of it is political too.

No. Just common sense. I don't need Michael Moore to figure this out.
To be honest the day Bush got into office I knew he would find a way to invade Iraq. That was a no brainer.
In my opinion Bush doesn't want to find Bin Laden. Why should he? He can't have a better cover up to push his own (and his oil business buddies) agenda. Heck, he can even thank Bin Laden for getting re-elected.

it all has to do with "peak oil", which will likely happen in a couple years.

Heck, he can even thank Bin Laden for getting re-elected.Since we're talking about Bush... While I was in San Fran for a week... I heard this stand up comedian (Dennis Miller) talk about the difference in Bush and Kerry in the last election...
Basically, he was saying it was a hard decision, he didn't know who to choose... so it came down to... the following.
He knew Kerry was a logical man... thinks about every move, and repercussions of them, etc, etc... A chess Player... Strategic in nature...
Bush on the other hand, is more of a Checkers player... if someone is in his way.... HE JUMPS THEM... He's a JUMPER... Piss him off you get JUMP... that simple...
This is why he voted for Bush....
Interesting... I thought...
Just some bad humour to lighten up this topic...

so they confirmed that they were suicide bombers. when i visited london last year I saw all the cameras everywhere and my friend thought those cameras were just there to scare ppl from committing crimes, but I guess they really do work.
Anyway, Canada is sending a new mission to Afganistan and I think we're all thinking about how that would likely provoke terrorist attacks on Canadian soil. Apparently we're the only country on al quaida's hit list that has not yet been attacked.
I know I don't want to change my plans or goals because of this risk, but at the same time, I have to admit I'm scared. I'm scared about taking public transit or having my family and friends take public transit now.

C'mon - you have a better chance of dying in car accident or crossing the street than you do of being killed by terrorists!
Its seems as though their strategy is working - at least with you.
These people put no value on human life - that of people in the west and even their own kind.(suicide bombing).
I believe their biggest scare is the western way of life (freedoms of life, speach, and idiology etc.) I saw a documentary on the muslim way of life in the mid east / far east & the way the opress women & anyone who doesnt agree with their points of view is SICKENING! They don't want anyone to have the freedoms that westerners have because those in power (leaders,Imams ect.) will have no powers once people see how they can truly live!
