Looking for any advice or direction from the field...

I have a PVR & a HD receiver for 2 different TVs - I want to replace my HD with a HD/PVR combo. Does anybody have a good source for these - would like to avoid paying $599++ for a new recevier, and end up with a paperweight HD receiver.

Anything off the back of a truck is considerable...

I got a HD PVR from Rogers basically for free. I spoke with the service rep from Rogers and told them that Bell was offering one of their systems with PVR for free and asked Rogers if they could do anything similar for me. He put me on hold and then came back and gave me a free PVR for 2 years. No contract.

How long ago was this? Would you mind going into more detail so every TGNer can benefit, please? Is the Bell promo still on?
