Let's make a list of things that bothers you on the golf course or range:

a nice shot straight down the fairway and then i can't find my ball
cell phone ringing at the top of my backswing
when you make a bad shot people telling you, oh you looked up too early, gotta keep your head down...hehe

the only things that bother me on the range are mosquitos and maybe excessive noise.

i guess as an add-on to your first point is when someone picks up your ball. usually this happens when you have to hit a blind LZ or if you hit one really badly :(
people talking while you are in your setup to hit or putt

golfers who don't play ready golf
golfers who jot down their score while still on the green after they just completed the hole
any cellphone that rings (doesn't matter if it's on my backswing or if I'm drinking a bottled water)
3 putting after I make a textbook GIR
a round where jaydog possibly beats me.....:D kidding buddy.......
plus many, many more..........I'm not sure if this belongs in the Rules & Etiquette after reading all my points...ahaha:confused:

I must be getting old. I don't let too much get to me when I'm out any more, although I have lost it on occassion in the past, hehehe.

If I had to list some annoyances ...

* #1 has to be slow play - I don't like rushing shots, but there are things you can do to speed up play like NOT doing the following ...

** walking way too slow. ever watch the pros? they hoof it to the ball, then take their time with their shots

** when playing cart golf, not bringing all "potential" club selections with them to their ball

**as someone pointed out ... marking score and also putting clubs back into bag at the green ... do this at the next tee box.

* #2 are those of us who like to complain and make excuses after every bad shot made. face it, we all imperfect at this game, and frankly no one else cares about your crap shots. we've got our own crap shots to worry about lol.

* #3 those "helpful" but unsolicited tips, unless of course you've made the Golf Digest's Top 100 Teaching Pros list. Your tips, while valid, don't really help me on the course. Tell me after the round.

meh, i guess that's about it. who ever you play with, just go with the flow and enjoy yourself. Life's too short, and the green tees are too high (in the GTA) to be making it more stressful for yourself.

After reading this, I believe this thread should be in the Etiquette section! :)

3 putting after I make a textbook GIR

the above wouldn't belong though. it's ok, this is not just rules and ettiquette could be anything that bothers you.

another to add to the list, mosquito bites!

The things that bother me the most:

I really hate it when there are so many bugs buzzing around your ear.
golfers who walk in front of you as you're about strike the ball
kids who golf with adults and not being told the basic golf etiquettes/rules
marshalls constantly on your tail even though your 4some is not running behind
losing my balls when I hit a straight shot or slightly in the rough (no where near water or forest or fescue)
fescue intimidating me:mad: (at least water doesn't have the same intimidating factor anymore:D )

 Things that bug me on the golf course:

- mosquitos and dragonflies
- windy days that blow leaves and twigs onto the green in the way of my putt
- people making calls on their cellphone
- golfers that mark their score while still on the green
- and people that don't know where to put their bag so that it's closest to the next hole

One more ... the beverage cart that always seems to be going away from you! Usually when you need that beer the most!

yessssssss.......i hate this!!!!!..they just keep on standing there, watching you play every shot...gets on my nerves..and then i'd hit a bad shot.......then i'd stare them down..

and sometimes i hate it when my playing partners take forever to putt when it's a major gimmi (especially if the group behind us is on our tails..)!!...either pick up the gimmie or tap it in fast! There's no need to mark the ball, clean the ball, line up the ball, take 3 practice strokes...and then putt..

LOL, very true. AnnikaFan, if you started playing since you were 13, it sounds like your gimmi might be different from mine...

haha...no the gimmes are all less than 1 ft from the hole!..and..my playing partner always take forever to putt putts that are clearly tap in putts (like almost no way you can screw it up)...*sigh*..lol

It really bothers me when I show up for my tee time and they're running 30mins-1hr behind schedule....arghhh!

When the group infront of you are 3 holes behind and they stop for the beverage cart and take their time.

And the group behind you start hitting when you are just getting off the green or you are within hitting distance on the fairway. Makes me feel like whacking their ball back at them.

Jaydog

kinda bothers me when you play a hole with a landing zone that is blind or over a hill making golfers ahead of you on the fairway hidden. when the people behind don't check the lookout perches (not sure about the term) to make sure it is safe to hit.

simply it can be quite dangerous. there is no excuse for this especially if there are posted warning signs telling you to check before hitting.

:D

Really? I guess I scare easily. *gulp* But I'm afraid of the dragonflies. :p One time, a dragonfly came right at me while I was driving a cart and I almost drove off the cart path into a ditch! Maybe they are harmless but I just don't like big bugs that fly. I don't like mosquitos either but I find them more annoying than scary.
