Ok so I know the trading card market isn't what it was 15 years ago when I was collecting.. but I was curious if there are any collectors here? I have a pretty good card collection I would like to unload.. I keep moving it from one place to another. I have a bunch of hockey cards from the 90s.. Most notworthy is my Michael Jordan collection.. I have around 200 diff. Jordan cards..

Any thoughts?

Cant get much for most sports cards produced during the 90s, the market was just so saturated...any jordan rookie cards? Check a few of the cards on ebay and see what they are going for...

Remember the Ken Griffey Jr Rookie card...i still think that was the one card that started this collecting craze in the 90s...at it's peak, it was going for a few hundred dollars, everyone started collecting!

Gone are the days when cards were worth something. As mentioned above the market for anything 90s is just too saturated.

I still have a complete set of O-PEE-CHEE hockey cards from Gretzky's second year and somewhere I have an unopened box of the original O-PEE-CHEE premiere which probably isn't worth much today.

I collected quite ardently when I was a young buck. It was something my stepfather and I shared a passion for and he was always pretty good with getting me stuff and gifting me complete sets, which he insisted I keep in original shrink wrapping. So I have a big chest in my basement filled with cards, and I haven't even opened it in 5+ years.

A buddy of mine sold a Gretzky rookie card for something like $800 during the "boom".

I couldn't tell you where all my old cards have gone - maybe if you wait 10-20 years you might get back what you paid for them  .

I have mint Gretzky, Messier, Bourque and Mike Bossy rookie cards that I bought back when I was like 11 or 12. I don't have any plans to sell them...but I'm pretty sure their value hasn't increased much over the years.

Depending on the rarity and or condition of the cards you could have some real money makers on hand. Most of the players you have rookie cards of are either done playing or close to it and people start trying to stockpile them before they go HOF. eBay is a decent way to check on prices but the best way is to buy a Beckett's hockey and see what they are really worth. Remember that you are unlikely to get the HI price and finding a buyer is the trick. If it seems like you have some good cards an ebay account is not a terrible way to go.
Post some of your big names and people might have a better idea of what they are worth or PM me and I can check in my latest Beckett's.
As for your Jordan cards. His rookie is crazy expensive and even the second year Fleer, but anything from 90 on there were about 10 million of them printed so unless they are signed or limited in some way they are not nearly as pricey.

If you do have some rare cards, get them graded...if they're mint you can make some real cash.

Jordan 1986 Fleer rookie Card:
M/NM Description = $200-500

PSA Grade 10 = $1000-5000

I'm all baseball. Rookies include Molitor (topps), Yount (topps),Clemens (fleer), Pucket (fleer), Strawberry (fleer), Canseco/Plunk (fleer), Bonds (topps), Griffey ('89 UD/88 Donruss), Justice (leaf), Thomas (leaf).......I also have most of the major brand extened sets in box from '88-'95. I always loved the Lindros jays card! As some of these were handed down to me years ago, I'm going to hang on to them and share them with my kids someday.

I'm old school.
I went through 2 dozen Bobby Orr rookie cards as "motors" in the spokes of my bike.......very expensive motors!

I wan't ever a collector but had tons of cards from around Gretzky's rookie year including 2 full sets of that year and about 8 of his rookie cards from when I was a kid. Dumped them all over a couple of years 15-17 years ago and made a few bucks!
