Ok, I'm a noob and this is my first thread (not my first post though, ha!).

It's end of October, and in typical Canadian fall fashion, it's cooling down out there. I, like most of us here, am hoping that it stays snow free and temperate for as long as possible to get as many "last rounds of the season" in.

I'm getting old, and can't remember what year it was but there was one season, where I played my last round of the year on December 5th. I think it was 12 or 14 degrees out. It was beautiful. I'm guessing 1997 or 1998. Dang, all those 19th hole beers are finally getting to me!

What was your longest season?

Here's hoping for a warm November :)

Hey malarky! So I'm guessing you MUST be playing on the very warm Saturday coming up or atleast Sunday, correct? My longest season was probably last year, I think I remember playing only up to first week of November.....Unfortunately I think I called it quits for this season despite the warm weather coming up.....golf has done quite a damage to my wallet! :(

Last year was my longest golf season all because my friends all got hooked into the sport. It doesn't help when your friends call you to play "one last round before the snow" so you go out. The next week is nice too and you go again etc. Well, just like Ego Woods, I've played tons of golf this season and my wallets got to stop bleeding. Would be nice to get out as long as possible though. Happy Golfing!

Nah, not this weekend. This season sort of sputtered out for me. Lots of other distractions (like work and kids) keeping me away from the golf course this year.

I'd like to try to sneak in one more if I can, but I'm not counting on it.

me too. unfortunately, my last round was so bad, the only golf for me will probably be the driving range.

Hoz-ay,
Nice way to end a golf season dude! Did they have that fall special for $115 all inclusive? I've never played there but I will one day!! I heard its an experience of a lifetime? Not sure if I would pay the full $230 but for $115 I definately would. How did you do on the famous "17th hole at TPC Sawgrass?"

One more thing Hoz-ay, if you're thinking of going down South for golf this winter, send me a PM or reply to this. A few of my friends and I went down to Santee SC in Feb and had a great time. We could recommend you some places to stay or courses to play. I heard Myrtle Beach is MUCH better though. Where you planning on going?

F. Singh,
Didn't have to pay for the round at Wooden Sticks... it was a gift... woohooo! I love that course! 3rd time played & I'm always in awe when I play it. I would never pay $230 for a round either! Been fortunate enough that I get to play good courses either free or at a decent discount. Good friends, clients & company I guess! :)

Par on 17... 2 putted from 25 ft. 1 stroke better than the last round I had there...

Not sure if I'll be able to make it down south to play this year... my wife & I just had a daughter. Might have to put golf in the back burner till summer. But if we do head on down there I'll certainly take you up on those recommendations.

Cheers!

Hoz-ay: back burner till summer? should start playing in the spring! a little cooler weather, not as humid and cheaper green fees!

Depends.......if you work a 9-5 job from M-F....then, you'll have a hard time trying to be able to use the coupons....many restrictions are placed on most of the coupons from the Golf Access book....otherwise, if you're free on some weekdays, then it's definitely worth it.....

What was your longest season?
Played the day before my birthday two years ago. Until the snow blew in today I was hoping this year would be better.

Still playing here in Ottawa.:)

Latest round ever was in 2000 (I beleive) when we played right up into december and has our last round on december 15th. Followed by an amazing spring when we started on March 08:D
